  • Hi
Can anybody advise, I sent in a PPI claim to MBNA 2 weeks ago, I received a letter back today asking me to call their Customer Service Centre to resolve the matter. I thought the usual stance was for them to write and advise they were looking into the case, seems a bit of a quick turnaround, just thought I would see if anyone else has had this response before I call them on Monday
Hi, could be like me. They may ask a few questions to clarify certain issues. ==Think== before you answer because if you say the wrong thing they will reject your claim....

You only get 8% interest when the card is in credit over the period and no the APR of 23.9% does not come into the equation :(
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)

    Hi!

I had a Loan whith HSBC which I upgraded a couple of times to consolidate my debt. 3 loans in total. Each with a PPI.

I used the template and filled in the questioaire to mentined most the points in which I believe that the PPI was missold to me (such as it was optional, that I had sickness cover from my current employer, etc). I have been offered over £6000 which shows how much I ave been rip off over the years!!!!

Many thanks for your help Martin.
  • thanks dilus, just wanted to be sure before i accept the offer. x
  • Two years ago I reclaimed my ppi from Mbna and was told I'd paid £1100 but they would only offer me £700. As this was the first ppi I'd ever claimed I took the money and ran. Three weeks ago I wrote to Mbna asking for them to review my case on a whim after hsbc paid my claim after a long battle through the ombudsman.. I thought for the cost of a letter I may get lucky.. Today I got a letter offering me 4800 minus the original £700 so I have s cheque in the post for £4200.
No arguing, no ombudsman just straight up payment. Happy Xmas me.

hello Can somebody give me some advise please.
i made a claim for ppi through a company and they did a good job, not long after i put in this claim i also put in a claim for a dro, this was because i could not afford to pay my creditors, i owed around £14000 to around 5 creditors. my claim was against Clydesdale bank for the ppi, Clydesdale bank told the receiver that they were going to pay £1300 into my account and take the rest as part payment off a loan i still owed them, Clydesdale bank however did not tell us anything, we knew nothing of this until the receiver wrote to us to say that my debt relief order had been revoked because i was going to receive this payment from Clydesdale bank. This was only 6 weeks before my dro was to end clearing all my debts.
I at no time signed to except this agreement, i would not have accepted the agreement because the company that dealt with my ppi had already told me that my dro would be revoked because i would have more than £300 in my bank account, basically Clydesdale bank in formed the receiver about my ppi claim and then paid the £1300 in to my bank and told them of this also all without my agreement to it, my dro is then revoked and i owe all my creditors again including Clydesdale bank another £7000, i feel that everything clydesdale bank has done as been underhand and unfair, i asked the ombudsman to look at this but they say the bank have done nothing wrong, how can a bank get away with not getting me to sign an agreement, i have appealed and awaiting to hear the outcome, i may then have to take the bank to court with all the facts.

    cheers
    john.
