Gosh I wish, I have a feeling it will go over the eight weeks. How many weeks are you now?0 -
It took 12 months of waiting but the HSBC re-paid my PPI on a loan to the tune of just over £11,000. That'll leave me debt free for the first time in about 13 years. I did get the Financial Ombudsman involved, but I probably didn't need to.0

SUCCESS
Bank of Scotland Credit Card, 12 week time was up on Monday of this week, received letter today saying found in favour and redress of around £1600 which is a good result, didn't have most statements due to shredding, but happy with whats been offered. Went online to card statement and have had the money credited to the account, clearing what balance we had, should find out on Monday once the monthly payment has been cleared and the ppi funds have cleared how much will be given to us but should be most of it, woohoo.
Letter and credit to the card account were both dated 1st November. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

Thanks but I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding here. The repayments should have been £216.88 a month, with £32.16 in ppi. If my sister has paid £300 a month, that's just over £50 excess. So my question is, if she does this for twelve months (which she did in 2009) that would total £600 in overpayments. Therefore, would an additional 8% of that £600 be added to it and count towards paying off the total outstanding amount, or would it just remain at £600?
Thanks.
Well now first let me say that I am not an expert, but overpayments are not really relevant. If the repayments are a fixed amount each month, then your sister would only have been paying £32.16 in PPI premiums each month. It will only be the PPI payments that are refunded with 8% interest, the overpayments are pretty much irrelevant. But perhaps some more learned folks than me will know different!0 -

To be honest, If they have said you can take it to the FSO, then i wouldnt even bother asking for them to reassess the claim, as they will most probably turn it down again anyway. Go straight to the Ombudsman Service. I may be wrong but it seems you have a pretty clear cut case. It is generally accepted that you have to tick a box to say you wanted it rather than to say you dont want it. I would suggest they are just trying to put you off your claim to save them having to pay out!0 -
Well done and Congratulations to today's winners!:T:beer::jThe one and only "Dizzy Di"

Would really appreciated someones advise on how to proceed.
I have received a rejection letter from Santander who are now responsible for the Time Retail Finance Card I had which is now paid off. - No refund offered. Last PPi payment taken Dec 2009 ( Don't know why)
Account paid off Jan 11.
Their response briefly:
Acknowledged PPI was applied to account in 1991, but due to time lapsed unable to retrieve legible copy of agreement.
They say that once a customer has decided to take a produt then thet policy document and summary mailed to me with 30 day no-quibble right to cancel. - NO POLICY DOCS EVER RECEIVED., NO DISCUSSION EVER TOOK PLACE RE PPI.
Advised PPI clearly shown on account statements - True but was not asked if I wanted or needed it, nor was it explained what is was. Infact was not told it would be applied to account.
They also say that they have no way of knowing what took place when the account was opened, but I that I would have had 30 days to ask for PPI to be removed. -How would I when I didn't know it was being applied.
Lastly, they say that as PPI was applied in 1991 the FOS has no jurisdiction on this matter, and if I am dissatisfied with response to refer to Finace and Leasing Association.
Any help on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.0
