Hello wonder if anyone can helpme... I was sold a card protection on my Barclays card last year... Worth £39.99 and the time i registered was i wanted activate my card the person wwho sold was pushy and mentioned it was a must to have one... MY partner said i mis sold.. now they have charged me without my permission second time around when i rang i was told it was autorenewal for lifetime!! Any way i stand for a claim? i am not happy with the this has been handled by Barclays...

    Hi there

I would definately complain about this and the way it was done and can't see no harm in you making a reclaim.

What does this cover you for exactly? just making sure, is it the one to protect the card, for example, if you lost it or if it got stolen, or is it the one where you can make a claim for sickness/unemployment?

Even so, if its the card protection and you did not require this, I can't see no harm in putting in a complaint.

    Good luck.

    Hi guys and gals,

Hope you're all well and enjoying plenty of successes in your quest to get back what's rightfully yours.
It's been a while since I've even logged onto the forum as not having PPI issues dominating conversations and our lives in general has been a welcome break over the last few weeks! However, I have been rather busy over the last few days in trying to work out exactly how much my sister has repaid since the FOS have instructed GE Money to calculate what her monthly repayments would have been without the PPI. I believe I have one of the folks on the forum to thank for pointing us towards an online calculator which does the job for you, and after many long hours of calculating, double checking and triple checking the calculations (minus the ppi) it would appear that my sis has made overpayments exceeding £3000. This is great as if it's applied to what the balance should have been without the ppi, the loan is then cleared. However, would somebody be able to tell me if the 8% per annum rule also applies to overpayments? I know it's not an awful lot of money but I reckon 8% of £300 is about £240 which would help my sis pay for a few small pieces of equipment to help her be a little more independent at home. Can anyone enlighten us on this please?
    Look here
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges#step2

On the bank charge calculator, put the monthly ppi payment made, the year and the month for the time this was paid.this will keep a running total of ppi and 8% you get back.

My husband has just received £2,552 back after Halifax took PPI when he was a student and had a part-time job. He originally paid around £1,600 over the four years. £850 was compensation and the rest interest.

They've put it back onto his credit card, we're so happy!

    Fantastic!:T Congratulations!

Had put in a complaint to FOS about what I claimed were unfair bank charges form 2002-2005, these were from a rough time I had which resulted in charges being applied to charges and for some time I was getting charged anything from £150-180 per missed DD, one time even £300 for a missed DD, well, thinking I had nothing to lose by claiming, FOS sent paperwork to Lloyds on 26th October 2011.
On Monday or Tuesday this week, I had call from Lloyds informing me they have received paperwork from FOS and were going to refund me over £2000 for these charges!!!!:) Money to be in bank soon, and it was in there last night!!!!!!!!!!OMG, how quick was that!
JUst checked bank this morning AND..........
PLPI Refund in account :T Yayyyyy, finally! Is this the PPI refund or interest would anyone know? Figure paid in is not matching figures I have been given, but thats probably due to these figures being almost 4 months out of date lol.
Will give Lloyds a bell I think. So happy to have finally got my money from Lloyds:j:j:j:j:j

Absolutely fab, all in good time for Xmas too!:T:j Congratulations!

    Hi All

Received payment today from CIS for PPI on CC. Took 6 weeks to payout but kept hounding them to pay quicker.

Also my account is now with a DCA so they do payout to your bank if the account has been passed on :j
