    Hi,

don't know for sure but if you contact HMRC they should have records of the type of tax and national insurance that you paid for the years you were self employed and I would have thought they can send you this information. This would be sufficient evidence I would have thought. Worth a phone call, maybe.

Good Luck, I hope you get it sorted. x

I say definately worth a try, my brother in law was self employed back in the early 2000's and a few months ago he requested for details from the HMRC, in which he received, so I say give them a call too.:)

Took out two secured loans with First National Bank plc
1st one in 2001 - redemed it and took a new one in 2003
Do not have the secured loan agreement or anything
But did try to claim in 2009, and sods law, they said no.
They as in now GE Money which acquired First National Bank
I even tried to go down the route with the FIA who claim that they tried and it was out of their hands.
The loans were redemeed and the PPI had to be paid for the life of the loan. Never understood why but they said it did.
Now I am trying to claim GE Money claim that it is over 6 years old and their only keep up to 6 years records.
    Is it really too late?

    Hi

I wouldn't say its too late, not when others have been successful in making reclaims from accounts even taken out in the 90's.

If you don't try you will never know, if it fails, due to the business perhaps not being regulated by the FSA when you taken out the account, the FOS will probaly suggest pursuing the underwriter/insurer of the policy, as its highly likely they would have been regulated and therefore if it fails again, the FOS would then be able to investigate.

The lender should provide you with details of the underwriter/insurer on request, but see what happens with what you have done first and take it from there.

    Good luck.;)

    Hi guys and gals,

Hope you're all well and enjoying plenty of successes in your quest to get back what's rightfully yours.
It's been a while since I've even logged onto the forum as not having PPI issues dominating conversations and our lives in general has been a welcome break over the last few weeks! However, I have been rather busy over the last few days in trying to work out exactly how much my sister has repaid since the FOS have instructed GE Money to calculate what her monthly repayments would have been without the PPI. I believe I have one of the folks on the forum to thank for pointing us towards an online calculator which does the job for you, and after many long hours of calculating, double checking and triple checking the calculations (minus the ppi) it would appear that my sis has made overpayments exceeding £3000. This is great as if it's applied to what the balance should have been without the ppi, the loan is then cleared. However, would somebody be able to tell me if the 8% per annum rule also applies to overpayments? I know it's not an awful lot of money but I reckon 8% of £300 is about £240 which would help my sis pay for a few small pieces of equipment to help her be a little more independent at home. Can anyone enlighten us on this please?

    Hi All,

I took a loan for £2800 in 2008. I have a copy of fixedsum loan agreement which says the total amount payabale is £6300 (£4700 for the cash loan and £1600 for the LPI).

When I was takin the loan I didn't realise the LPI was optional. It wasn't offered to me as something additional so I thought it was standard thing and I had to take it. Now, when I am going through the paperwork there is something called ''Your personal Summary & Our Recommendations'' which says I have told them I would have no way to meet my loan commitment if I became unemployed, suffered an accident or sickness, etc. The document also says I have confirmed I don't have any existing insurance so the LPI was recommended to me and I have received all the information on the cost, terms and conditions.

The document is signed by the adviser only.

Honestly I wasn't even asked about whether I need that insurance or not.

Also, I believe the adviser took advantage of the fact I'm foreigner and I wouldn't know what my rights are...

Do you think I could also claim my money back?

    Many thanks in advance

  • Had put in a complaint to FOS about what I claimed were unfair bank charges form 2002-2005, these were from a rough time I had which resulted in charges being applied to charges and for some time I was getting charged anything from £150-180 per missed DD, one time even £300 for a missed DD, well, thinking I had nothing to lose by claiming, FOS sent paperwork to Lloyds on 26th October 2011.
On Monday or Tuesday this week, I had call from Lloyds informing me they have received paperwork from FOS and were going to refund me over £2000 for these charges!!!!:) Money to be in bank soon, and it was in there last night!!!!!!!!!!OMG, how quick was that!
JUst checked bank this morning AND..........
PLPI Refund in account :T Yayyyyy, finally! Is this the PPI refund or interest would anyone know? Figure paid in is not matching figures I have been given, but thats probably due to these figures being almost 4 months out of date lol.
Will give Lloyds a bell I think. So happy to have finally got my money from Lloyds:j:j:j:j:j

    Hi Dustybin,
I am thinking about reclaiming bank charges for pretty much the same reasons, I just wanted to find out what you put in your claim?

    Thanks

Just joined the PPI debate forum, and just wanted to let others know about my case.I sent my claim off to Lloyds TSB for 2No loans in May 2011. Both were upheld by letter with no figures in August 2011. Acceptance sent back to TSB at the begining of September 2011, and as you would expect, I have not received any final sum,let alone payment, and it is now November 2011. It would appear that Lloyds TSB are actioning claims at random, despite what they say on their helpline. Just got to wait I suppose.
Got an e-mail from LTSB Customer Care, apologising for the length of time my claim has taken, and the have contacted the refunds department to action as a matter of urgency. Maybe my offer letter will be delivered by fairies. We live and hope.
