  • I am currently waiting for two PPI payments from Lloyds. One offer recieved in July the other late Sept. Not recieved a penny yet despite numerous phone calls.
Unfortunately for me I got a claims company to do the claim and they are going to get 29% of the payments.:(
The money will go directly into my bank account and the company keep ringing me to see if its been paid ...so they can be paid .
Ive told them to get on to Lloyds and get it sorted as thats what they are getting paid for.
Trying to get through to Lloyds myself it impossible Ive been kept waiting over an hr once.
How hard it it for a bank to move mony from their account to another ....They are a BANK for gods Sake it should be easy
  • Spaniellover , amersall - thanks. I think I am just rethinking the worst scenarios in my head. This waiting lark is doing me no good! I want that money!!! Grrrr.

Any news of cheques received from anyone??? How come some companies can put into bank account but others refund by cheque???

    Z
  • HI Thanks to martins guide i have just recieved a refund of £5700 for all ppi costs of bank loan ppi charges from the Royal Bank of Scotland.
It only took the one letter that you fill out online then post to your bank.
And you get all the money yourself instead giving away 25% to some company to do the same thing.
    Thanks Martin

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice or guidance please. I have also had a refund offer from Barclaycard totalling just over £3,000 on my Barclaycard credit card which was formerly with Providian/Monument. Their summary shows that the offer is only from 2007 when they took over the account from Monument but I have been paying premiums since the card’s original inception in 2001.

On searching through old paperwork I have found a copy of a letter, which Barclaycard sent me when the card was changed saying that “because Monument was previously part of the Barclays Group, it isn’t necessary to change the terms of your agreement” and I also have a few old statements for both Providian and Monument which clearly show the premium being deducted. Do you think I should write back to them and ask them to re-consider their calculations as their offer is a straight forward refund and not termed “goodwill” and is less than half of what I have originally paid?

You definitely need to go back to them! Exactly the same thing happened to my mum! She phoned FOS for advise when she got her first and "final" offer. She was told to go back to Barclaycard and tell them she was rejecting the offer and the reason why. She was never able to get through on the phone so sent an email to the CEO and within 2 weeks, she was given a new offer of 3 times the original offer! Good luck!
  • Thanks to everyone on this site for all the help and support, If it wasn't for reading this forum and getting the courage up to submit my claims on 3rd August 2011 I would still be in debt, I have received cash back or are waiting on cheques arriving to the grand sum of £21,896.53 :T

Trying to work out when I might receive my cheque by looking at others posts to see when they got their offer letters and if they'd got the cheque yet. So if this is any help to anyone else:
I got my offer letter on 12th September, this was for a ppi on a Lloyds Credit card, still awaiting cheque. I'll post agan when it arrives.
  • Took out two secured loans with First National Bank plc
1st one in 2001 - redemed it and took a new one in 2003
Do not have the secured loan agreement or anything
But did try to claim in 2009, and sods law, they said no.
They as in now GE Money which acquired First National Bank
I even tried to go down the route with the FIA who claim that they tried and it was out of their hands.
The loans were redemeed and the PPI had to be paid for the life of the loan. Never understood why but they said it did.
Now I am trying to claim GE Money claim that it is over 6 years old and their only keep up to 6 years records.
    Is it really too late?
