PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I am getting really frustrated at being fobbed off by LTSB, i am still waiting for payment from a claim made in April 2011, I was told a cheque would arrive shortly (that was the 19th September 2011) I was also told that they would only be paying me interest on my current loan until 13/10/11 we are now in November. No wonder their Boss has gone off with stress, i would too, if i had a workforce as incompetent as those who are dealing with this PPI fiasco !!!!
Hi and welcome
This just isn't on at all!!!
We have been suggesting that you contact your local MP's explain the situation, ask them to write to them on your behalf, tell them its really getting you down now because they've had more than ample time, and you really could do with your money now.
Ask your MP to send you copies of letters sent and received.
Good luck and hope you receive your money soon, and surely in this case they should compensate further redress for the distress and inconvenience they have caused, you could also mention that to the MP.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

hey guys,
I have had 2 offers, one from natwest and one from the AA (RBS), the natwest have sent me a letter saying that they are running behind with payments and that it should be in the next 4 weeks, however three weeks after receiving an offer from the halifax I have had no sign of any cheque and after several phone calls there is just no sign of one and I am hitting a dead end? all i get is "we cant give you a timescale it will just be as soon as possible" am I being optimistic in thinking it should be before xmas? the interest was calculated up until 04/11/11 (tomorrow) so will it all be recalculated again? its all so frustrating!
At least Natwest updated me to say it was delayed I suppose, anyone else dealing with them that has any updates on timescales etc?
Congrats to all the winners today as well!!
Hi there
This seems to be becoming a trend with the banks and we know they've had backlogs, but still its just not fair at all.:(
As above and many other posts, I have suggested contacting your local MP's, maybe they will write on your behalf.
Also ask your MP to request for further redress for the distress and inconvenience caused.
Remember, MP's are under the government, and hopefully it will help give a push for you, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks Di, I will try that, just rang them (again!) and was told that they dont make a note on the system when cheques are issued??!! I said this sounds ludicrous considering how much money they could be sending out! also got told they come second class so its a wait and see game really, again absolutely nothing they can do, i asked to speak to someone in charge or in the cheques dept only to be told that there was no-one available and there is no timescales being agreed as they cannot keep to them! brilliant! time to put pen to paper again it seems........0

I spoke to the FOS about Firstplus payment times, I was told a wait of up to ten weeks was fine and if you go past twelve weeks maybe you would look at reporting it back to the FOS then.
I cannot believe that there are no guidelines that are put in place for this. :eek:0 -
Just been made an offer of £540 from the RBS for missold PPI on a visa credit card. This is actually more than I expected, so quite chuffed! This would not have been possible without the input of the people on this site. Cheers:beer:0

Hello there
You certainly have a good case, and no wonder Lloyds are in no hurry to deal with it!!
You will be fine though I'm sure.;)
Right, well I'm not the one for calculations, and I'm sure someone will be along soon to check this out for you.
But in general you should get back all you have paid of the PPI, plus all the relevant interest and 8% interest of what a court would normally award.
So going by your calculations, you should get that amount back, plus interest on top, the folks will hopefully be along later to work this out for you.
Good luck.:)
Cheers for the help, I would like the money back sooner rather than later but I can't see it happening this side of next Christmas, but you never know stranger things have happened.
I'll keep you all up to date on how in get on, LTSB have till the 13th December to respond by the FOS guidelines so I'm only really at the start of a very long road.
Not going to get angry and stressed about it at the minute, if I get the cash it will be going into savings!0 -

I know!! its shocking that it seems as long as you get your offer letter by the 16 week mark they can they can then just take their sweet time in actually paying you the money! pah, and well done on your win
