PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

i had a loan with tesco finance and was sold ppi. i wrote to them using martin's template to complain because I was retired when they sold me the ppi.
They refused my complaint, I took it to the FSO in the summer of 2008 and they upheld my complaint. I had a letter from them just before Christmas telling me that tesco finance would repay me the ppi. They said it could take 6-8 weeks before i had my refund. I have not heard anything from Tesco finance yet. Has anyone else reclaimed from Tesco and how long did repayment take?0 -
:j I have just received a cheque for £1407.00 from Needaloan as full and final settlement due to mis sold PPI. The loan was arranged over the internet through the above named company, they also arranged the PPI. I am self employed in the building trade, due to hard times, I decided to look at how to go about reclaiming my loan payments which were £211.32 per month for a loan of £9234.00. This included a one off payment of £1134.00 for the PPI. I discovered that it was impossible for me to claim on this policy. I decided to claim my PPI payments backj. My initial letter was flatly rejected, as the policy did cover self employment, but I found some clauses in the terms and conditions of the policy that I couldn't meet ie "my business must cease to trade and I must be in receipt of job seekers allowance and up to the time of ceasing to trade, I must be in full time employment" My point was, if I was in full time employment, why would I be closing my business down? I wrote to them again, this time they responded with a cheque for £250.00 which I returned to them stating that I wanted the full amount that I had paid including interest, or I would go to the Onbudsman to pursue my claim. This resulted in a phone call where I negotiated the final payment of £1407.00. Not bad for two letters and a phone conversation. Thanks Martin:T0

Hi there
Hope you hear soon then.
I think as they have so many to deal with in these complaints - maybe that is why they could be taking so long.
You could sent them a LBA (letter before action), I did have the copy of the letter but have mis laid this, but you could write if this is not paid out within 14 days you will consider further action, it worked for me, was not this company though.
But see what the others here post up who has had dealings with these and they may give some useful advice for you.
If you do decide to sent a letter before action, as this was done through the FOS, its always best to go through this with them first, just to keep them in the picture, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hello, i had 3 loans with the Bank Of Scotland running consecutively from 1990 - 1996. My repayments in total came to 13,000. I thought i would try and claim the PPI having seen this site. I sent a letter on 16 January and just received a letter backk today to say they are upholding my claim and I will get the amount back in full plus intrests etc. I have no idea how much i will get (all opinions greatly accepted) but they will send me the money in about 1 months time!!!!!!! Not bad for 1 letter. I will let you all know what i get.
Im just waiting to hear about the Credit Card i have with them to see what i get for that.0 -
