I think y'all should call on the universe - cosmic thinking and all that - ask that the banks should release your money within a specific time. It should work ;)

Once I get my figures off Halifax, that's what I'll do and I'll post on here and y'all see :p

  • I am in shock as having just checked online Lloyds TSB have refunded me just over £4800 of credit card PPI directly into my bank account. I have not received any letters from them since an acknowledgement of receipt of my claim on 21st June. Delighted with the refund but I have no idea how they calculated it. If you haven't started your claim yet then suggest you ask for any refund to be put directly in your account as it seems much quicker that way.

Sam I have mailed her, and to date am still waiting for a reply :-( I just seem to be coming up against brick walls wherever I turn :(

  • Hi, I originally e-mailed the CEO of Halifax on 4th August to claim ppi missold on a loan I took out in October 2001. I received an e-mail about 2 weeks later advising that a claims handler would look into the complaint and this would take approx 16 weeks. I rang them up today and was told that a letter has gone out to us yesterday upholding claims for 3 loans (I only advised them about 1 as I did not have details of others!!) which total around £6,700.00. I was over the moon and gobsmacked, she said that I should receive the letter this week but she did not know the timescale involved for receiving cheques but imagined that it will be after 20th November as this is the date that the insurance is paid up until. My acceptance letter was received on 3/10. A few days later I called the direct line 023 8072 3838 and was told I would have the money in my account within 15 working days of receipt of acceptance. Nothing has yet appeared!!. After numerous attempts to call the same number yesterday (engaged or 'other person has hung up' messages), I eventually spoke to someone who explained that they had to wait for confirmation that my loan was closed before they could issue the payment. Part of the offer was to close my loan and the balance of the redress would be paid to me (12k). The loan was closed on 18/10 and now it seems I have to wait another 10-15 working days for the payment to appear in my account or in the words of the person I spoke to 'you will be paid soon'. SOON
I emailed the CEO chiefexecutivehsbcbank.hsbc.com and got the standard response... will investigate etc..... All these delays are so frustrating and make the whole process exhausting. I just want my money!!!!!!!
  • The cooperative bank have just paid me my money, 18 working days after sending off my acceptance letter. to give them their dues, they did say they would pay up within 20 working days. im really pleased and am for the first time in many years DEBT FREE! i used most of my ppi money to clear debts. I have learnt my lesson after living for years from hand to mouth. many thanks to everybody on this forum for all your help along the way. to those who are still waiting for results, dont give up. Give 'em hell (banks).

A friend of mine has just had her claim upheld to the tune of £4,400. It appears that they DON'T have to re-pay the APR on the upfront PPI but just re-pay the PPI + 8% standard interest, little bit unfair in my opinion as you have paid interest at the going rate on the loan from the offset but a result is a result and we are not arguing. This has come about in what I can only say is record time, only submitted complaint 6/10/11, received confirmation and uphold 10/10/11 by phone, told it had gone to claims dept 20/10/11, received offer 25/10/11, will accept and report back when payment is made. Abbey National/Santander by the way, very impressed :)
