Letter waiting for me when I woke up off nightshift, from Halifax regarding my PPI.
A refund of just under 2 grand as a full and final offer, though I am slightly confused by this paragraph-
"It should be noted that the figure quoted above will be refunded back onto the credit card account where the PPI premiums were originally debited.Subsequently,if you have not yet received it,a cheque for this amount will be forwarded under separate cover"
Does this mean I'll get a cheque?Or it goes towards my CC account?
    Confused lol.
    :jWell done :D
Some on here have had the card credited, then the bank have taken it off and sent a cheque.
Someone who knows about this will post i am sure.

Just had my second success with First Plus - had my offer letter today for approx £5200.00!! Quite a bit more than expected as well.

Strange thing about the offer letter in the Why we are upholding your complaint they have just said as part of the PPI application process we would complete a Statement of Demands and Needs to check if we could pay it back i guess? it doesnt mention if it was filled in or not and gives no other reason for upholding the complaint??

My complaint was about the upfront 5 years PPI and interest being paid over the full term of the loan even though the PPI lasted just 5 years.
:j:jYaaay  love a win with FP,the demands statement may have meant you had no use for this ppi,or they did not do one! either way it is good news for you :D

Just a quick question, the letters I've had from MBNA basically say 'upheld, thsese are the amounts, a cheque will be sent within 28 days'. They also say it's their final response, no further correspondence blah blah blah.

I've noticed that a lot of the posts on here refer to having to send back an acceptance letter. MBNA haven't said anything about that, the letters basically say they're going to pay me.

Anyone have any views ? Still within the 28 days so I guess wait and see.
This means they will pay you, when you get the breakdown of the offer,if it is wrong, you can take this to FOS and they will get MBNA to look at this,as MBNA wont deal with you anymore with reference to this claim.

After your initial phone call, were they in any form of contact before you received this cheque? Just wondering whether to contact 'em or not :D

I rang them a week ago just to see what was happening,I got the impression they are tying to deal with so many cases they are incredibly busy trying to sort folks claims out.
i got one letter after my initial contact stating i was basically in the que for a refund
missed direct debit charges, very odd, theres no pain so how come the big gain,i.e £39.00 for a letter

    Hi guys,

It means they refund it onto the credit card and then process a cheque from the credit card account. Probably so they have a record of refunding directly the the account is was originally taken from.

I had the same letter on the 18th and cheque by the 21st.
  • Hi all, Just a quick post to say I filled in a complaint on behalf of my dad in the beginning of August for PPI on his loans, Overdraft and credit card with Barclays.

The reason for his complaint was he didn't ask for it, worked for the local authority who have an excellent sickness and redundancy package. Barclays staff knew he was statemented dyslexic, so everything would need to be explained to him and had they told him he would have refused.

He has had a letter today refunding him £4900 for his loans, just waiting on the other 2 complaints now.:j

Once again thanks to Di3004, Amersall, Niggly and everyone who posts with their stories as you have inspired me to help my family and friends claim back what rightfully belongs to them!!:A

That's just my issue. I've had no such definite promise off them or I would patiently wait.

    I phoned in my claim.
Received a letter shortly afterwards saying they're looking into my claim.
Received a 2nd letter apologising for the delay informing me they've now been given 16 weeks to deal with claims.

    That's it!!!

I called them after the 16 week deadline to be told that a payment process had been started on 21st September. If I hadn't called, I still wouldn't have known anything. They couldn't tell me how much for or nothing.

I would appreciate a letter so at least I know something is being done ;)

I'm a very patient person, could wait 6 months if I had to but only if I'm being informed along the way so I don't wait needlessly.

I'll call them again next week which would take it over 4 weeks since their payment process began ;)

By the sounds of it,I should expect a cheque quite quickly then?

i know its incredibly frustrating especially if you could do with the money but give it some more time it will be the fact they have thousands of claims to get through, you will get a decision soon im sure
