    Hi All,

I'm getting really frustrated with Lloyds TSB, I got a letter dated on the 8th September saying that we had 11k coming! totally unexpected, we were expecting about 3k, and a life changing sum of money. Once its through we will be debt free AND it will cover the cost of our very small wedding and honeymoon in march/april.

I CANNOT get a straight answer out of them about payment, I've phoned every day and get told that NO ONE knows the payment timescales. I was told originally 21 working days (its now 28) then 6-8 weeks. I find it incredibly hard that they cannot at least set a realistic expectation.

I spoke to the financial ombudsmen people last night, they said they can do something once 8 weeks is up (3rd November) but it might reset the timing to the beginning.

Does anyone know anything else about this?
    Thanks
    Kate
Have you tried e mailing their CEO. I found this helped in my case:)

    Hi all,

Sent an e-mail to David Chan (CEO Barclaycard) last Thursday with regards to my ppi claim that had not been upheld in which, I asked them to reconsider their position. Finally got reply today saying "Your e-mail has been forwarded to the relevant department and will dealt with as a matter of urgency." So fingers crossed hopefully they'll comeback with some good news.
  • Just had my second success with First Plus - had my offer letter today for approx £5200.00!! Quite a bit more than expected as well.

Strange thing about the offer letter in the Why we are upholding your complaint they have just said as part of the PPI application process we would complete a Statement of Demands and Needs to check if we could pay it back i guess? it doesnt mention if it was filled in or not and gives no other reason for upholding the complaint??

My complaint was about the upfront 5 years PPI and interest being paid over the full term of the loan even though the PPI lasted just 5 years.

I downloaded the forms a few months ago. A few weeks ago I finally got around to completing them for 2 MBNA cards that I took out about 10 years ago. I was working for myself during the whole period and not on PAYE but was assured that I was still covered by the PPI. I eventually cancelled the cover about 2 years ago as my income dropped significantly and I needed to cut down.
It took me about 20 minutes to complete the forms, sent them off, got the standard 'we are investigating' response. Was fully expecting it to be declined, however ....
yesterday had a letter from MBNA saying the claim on the first card was upheld, and they would be sending me a cheque within 28 days.
Total amount is just over £13,500 !

Now waiting on the decision for the second card, don't see how that one can be declined after they've upheld the first.

Just want to say thanks to ML for explaining this process and making the whole thing so easy.

Just had the decision on the second card - upheld, and £7,800 to add to the original amount. I was totally out of control with my cards for a few years, hence the level of the payments. I'm very lucky to be able to recover this, and I don't think I would have if this site hadn't made it so simple. Thanks again Mr Lewis.

I seem to have had it easy compared to a lot of you, especially as I'd heard that MBNA were pretty tough about this stuff. I can only assume my case must have been very clear cut.

I hope everyone on here ultimately has success. Good luck to you all.

never thought id see the day that my old bank the halifax would part with any cash for my PPI claim. however today i got back £3300.00 for one phone call i made 4 months ago to register my claim.

    well done martin lewis.
missed direct debit charges, very odd, theres no pain so how come the big gain,i.e £39.00 for a letter
  • :j:j:j:jWell...

I'm back again after a few months away to report yet another PPI recliaming success. Barclaycard have agreed to uphold my complaint, and are paying back £2000 in charges plus interest. The card was originally taken out with Morgan Stanley, but transferred to Barclaycard. They added on PPI from day one, which I never requested.

After writing a brief letter, sending the questionnaire and 4 months of investigating they responded that they couldn't decide whether I had been missold, so paid up anyway. Result! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So far this year I have recouped £14,000 in charges, with two more to claim on and one with the Ombudsman (Capitalone).

My advice, if you haven't put your claim in yet, is to do it now, and don't use a claims handler, they'll take your hard earned cash. DIY, and reap the benefits. Thanks once again to everyone who has supported and given me advice on this forum, I couldn't have done it without you.
