never thought id see the day that my old bank the halifax would part with any cash for my PPI claim. however today i got back £3300.00 for one phone call i made 4 months ago to register my claim.
well done martin lewis.
After your initial phone call, were they in any form of contact before you received this cheque? Just wondering whether to contact 'em or notSECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:

Just had the decision on the second card - upheld, and £7,800 to add to the original amount. I was totally out of control with my cards for a few years, hence the level of the payments. I'm very lucky to be able to recover this, and I don't think I would have if this site hadn't made it so simple. Thanks again Mr Lewis.
I seem to have had it easy compared to a lot of you, especially as I'd heard that MBNA were pretty tough about this stuff. I can only assume my case must have been very clear cut.
I hope everyone on here ultimately has success. Good luck to you all.
Amazing Result!! This forum has been a great support to me, and i'm so glad I read everyone else's posts to spur me on to claim. Well done you. Enjoy your windfall! :j G0 -
Just received a letter from the Ombudsman today informing me that
"MBNA would like to make me an offer as a gesture of goodwill and with no admission of liability, to settle your complaint"
Im not really sure what this means exaxtly (maybe someone can help me out?!), but it seems that I have had some kind of victory over MBNA. I should let everyone know that I achieved this by sending an initial email (which was rejected by letter), and ONE further letter to The Ombudsman! Not sure yet how much i am getting back yet, but I will post as soon as I know.
Thanks MSE!0 -
Just a quick question, the letters I've had from MBNA basically say 'upheld, thsese are the amounts, a cheque will be sent within 28 days'. They also say it's their final response, no further correspondence blah blah blah.
I've noticed that a lot of the posts on here refer to having to send back an acceptance letter. MBNA haven't said anything about that, the letters basically say they're going to pay me.
Anyone have any views ? Still within the 28 days so I guess wait and see.0 -

Hi there
It seems the main of the banks are doing this now, because of backlogs.
With my recent ones via Lloyds was exactly the same, if your not happy you can contact them, such as on the amounts etc.
No acceptance forms were send for these, and they will automatically pay out the cheques in due course.
Well done on your success.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

:j Hello all, got just over £8000 back today which accumulated with 2 loans. Many thanks Martin and the team . Notice it states on the letter that they advise that you might have to pay tax on it. Anyone know anything about this.0

Hi everyone
I have just received my cheque from MBNA:j:j:j:j
History: Sent the form off to them on 15th September and had a response from them a week later to say that they would investigate the complaint. Came home to a letter to say that my complaint had been upheld and a cheque for £2,633 would be sent out within the next 28 days!!
I also have a claim on a Barclays Mastercard sent at the same time as MBNA but all I've had is the standard letter to say that are investigating.
Also, sent off to RBS for details of some loans I have had with them since 1991 - four of these loans (although small amounts) had PPI on them so have sent that claim off last week.
Hope everyone else is getting the results that we all deserve
