  • Hi this is the first time that i have posted so here goes.

I have been following this forum for months and over the new year finally took the plunge and completed the first template. I sent one to Natwest as i have had two loans over a 6 years the first one in 2003 the second 2005 and both were sold to me with PPI without me realising. It was only when my new husband came with me to the bank to review my loan did i realise that i had been paying insurance that i did not know i was paying for. I also had a credit card with Natwest and a M&S Store card all with ppi. I initally had letters back from them all saying they were looking into my case and would be in contact.

Natwest identified a case working in manchester who i telephoned on friday for an update of my case. He said that both my loans and the credit card have all been linked together for him to deal with and that he was still awaiting for a response from my bank. He confirmed that if the bank did not contact him in the next week they probably have not got the paper work and they will be making me a offer of payment.
    :j :j :j
Today i sent the second template letter to both the companys to ensure they are aware that i am going to follow the process through to the end.
    :j :j :j
Fingers crossed and thank you everyone for all of your great advice, i will keep you all informed.

    What were you reclaiming: PPI
How much did you get back: Full refund of PPI plus interest at card rate plus interest at 8%
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: SAR request sent February 2008, statements came very quickly. Sent request in March 2008 for full refund of PPI due to the fact I was covered by works policy. Letter from Cap1 in April, usual get lost letter, terms were set out for me to read & cancel within 30 days etc. April sent complaints form to FOS, got regular updates, stating they were very busy due to high amount of claims. Saturday 21st February 2009, received letter from FOS stating that CAP 1 were willing to settle my claim, in full without admitting liability (as if I care lol), settlement should take another 6 to 8 weeks due to Cap 1 being inundated with claims.

Thank you to everyone for your support and help with wording of letters and encouragement, you know who you are, di3004, marshallka and pinknico :T . You're all stars. I will update this with final figures once I get the cheque, it's probably just over £100, but it's money I thought I'd never see again. Keep going everyone and don't give in. You'll get there in the end. I am now going to claim for my DW's charges & PPI.

    Hi there

Yes you should be able to try to reclaim from them, as long as you've not actually made a claim for sickness/unemployment etc and you feel you were mis sold this product for any reason.;)

If you want some help through this please let us know, we will do our best to help.;)
