    Debt-free and Proud!
I reported the other day that my hubby had got an offer of £7871 from HSBC... this has actually now been recalculated again because he originally redid another loan which they had not included in the original offer and the sum offered is now £8808. Also he has been offered £1039 for an old HSBC credit card he did not even mention in the complaint. So £9847 offered from HSBC now! :j
    JULES
    DMP:LBM May 2008 £50,970.68
    December 2013 £0
    Thanks to Stepchange
PPI reclaimed £13,157.58 :Thanks to MSE and Martin

    Well...
    Firstplus HatTrick!!

I received confirmation of my first win against FirstPlus last week as a lot of you know.

I had a second claim against a loan from 2007. I should have had the decision by 29th September. But alas no letter. The other half spoke to them yesterday and told him that the second claim had been upheld, however just to make doubley sure, (i'm a bit anal like that!) I have rung them today to hear it for myself.

Yes! The second claim has been upheld. They were in fact going to reject the claim, but as the CEO was involved on the previous claim, they had to uphold the claim as the loan was prior to that successful claim.

That is not the best of it...

The loan in 2007 was to borrow additional funds on a loan we already had. I knew about this loan, but didn't have any details about it, I was going to wait and claim at a later date after I had seen the outcome of the other two claims. But no need!

Firstplus have looked into any previous loans we have had, and are paying up on all three loans!!!

The payout for the two tied into one is £12,651
Along with the payout of the other one that is a grand total of £26,651.:j:j:j:D:D:D

Please do not give up, if you get rejected the first time, there are other avenues to go down that will lead you to the road to success. We are living proof! The final decision doesn't alway mean FINAL final decision!

Just the waiting game now for the cheques to arrive. But I figure the longer I wait, the bigger the payment due to the 8% interest so i'm in no hurry! The decision has been made so what can a few weeks' wait hurt?

Remember GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT

    Good Luck Guys

I've called them. I posted the acceptance on 10th October it was received on the 18th. The lady said it's then sent to another department for checking and if the calculation is right payment is 6 - 8 weeks as advised.
    :D

It is six weeks for me next Wednesday, I will give them a chase up call next week ;).
  • Hi,

Would like to post a success with Barclays First Plus:

    Timeline:

    Requsted SAR May 2011.

BFP acknowledged reciept of claim form around 8th June.

Offer letter arrived yesterday after several postponing letters and being verbally informed the claim would take until middle of October to resolve.

    Loan details:

    Amount borrowed: £15,000
    Term: 20 years (240 months)
PPI Premium (Lump Sum Added to loan and covered first five years of loan): £2989.50

    Refund Details:

    A Original PPI Policy: £2,989.50
B Interest incurred due to PPI: £885.28
C 8% per annum simple interest: £1,054.28 (Net amount aftet BFP have taken tax out - Gross amount not given)
D Less early Settlement refund: £66.27
    E Total Value of refund (= A + B - D): £3,808.51

    Total Amount to be paid (C + E): £4862.79

They have stated it will take 6 - 8 weeks to process the payment.

Why we are upholding your complaint:

Having reviewed your complaint, we have been unable to establish whether the PPI policy was suitable for your needs.
Based on these findings we have upheld your complaint.

(I had 12 months paid sick leave, 4 * death in service cover and would have received a good redundancy payment from my employer)

Would someone be so kind as to check the offer of £4862.79 is suitable?

    First payment made October 2004.

Hope I have given all the relevant info :)

Thank you everyone, your posts have been invaluable, I wish everyone else the same success :)

    Hi everyone,

Posted the forms the day before I posted this Success on the Forum.

Phoned them today to chase, they have no record on their system of receiving the forms.

They managed to send us two letters with figures and Acceptance Forms though within days of each other... makes you wonder if they anticipated we would need a second copy!

So we have to send them again.

I recommend people send the Acceptance form Recorded Delivery, instead of using the pre-paid envelope provided.

Ah well, back to waiting again.

    Good luck everyone
  • Does anyone have contact address for American express as i need to do a PPI claim with them as well .
Congrats on some great wins also
