  • I have been taking loans out from LTSB for the last ten years.

A few years ago during a meeting at the bank I was told that I needed the PPI because the loan was unsecured.

After downloading a template from this website I complained to the bank that I had been missold the PPI.

Received a letter today stating that they were offering £16500, which is every penny we have paid plus interest for the last ten years.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to Martin and the team, wouldn't have been able to do it without you.

Hi, a newbie here. Just wondering if anyone can advise me on claiming for a credit card as I've had the card over twenty years and have no idea how i applied for it. Just can't remember if it was by post or at the bank. I only realised I had PPI from coming on this site. Also I sent off my details for my bank loans about April and have had one letter of acknowledgment dated 30th June and nothing else. From reading some of these posts i realise some people have been waiting a long time for their payouts but should I have received a letter of some sorts by now. Any advice gratefully received.

With Lloyds, you can phone the complaint to the PPI Customer Services. Details at the Lloyds website

You just need the card number and reasons for the missell. They should send you an acknowledgement within 3-5 working days. I also sent a follow-up letter based on a template from this site. My card was 14 years ago and I hadn't asked for the PPI; they just gave it to me.

    Hi Guys,
I have a second PPI claim that I am waiting a response for, (should have heard by 29th September!)

As we haven't heard anything, my other half gave them a ring to find out why there hasn't been any correspondance, as it has been over 18 weeks now, he was told by the advisor that the claim had been upheld and how much it was for.

My concern is that he was only told this, just to get him off the phone, he can be very persistant!

My query is, can they disclose this sort of information over the phone? Or do you think it was a stalling tactic?

    Thanks

Id be pretty sure that this is the case & your complaint has been upheld, but i would ask them to confirm this in writing via a letter or at the very least in a email, just incase you need to go to the fos at a later date but you will be fine im sure :D ps. Well done ......... :j

  • Hi All;-...Does that header make sence?? ...

Basically I do get sparadic re-payments Into my account
    from N.W.I.S.

As long as I send them regular Dr letters and stuff (which I have to pay for)...

So my dilema is;-...Yes I know it was miss-sold, because I didnt know I had it untill my personal banking manager "Told Me!!" ...

So IF;-...I get some money back from them ...

Can I still claim against it being mis-sold to me??...

  • I have had a PPI claim rejected from Barclaycard recently. I followed all the steps and filled in the FOB's complaint form. My arguments were that I had never requested the PPI as I was in a good financial state at the time of applying, that the card had a very low credit limit and have never taken out PPI on anything etc etc

They replied back rejecting my claim staing that as it was a postal claim I would have had to positevly opt in for the service - has anyone else came accross this .

I have complained to FOB but was just looking for some advice.

This seems to be a standard reply that most people (including me) get from Barclay Card. I went to the financial omnibusman and sent all of the correspondance I had from Barclay card (ie rejection letter and copy of original claim questionnaire) and they are investigating for me. Finger crossed they will overturn the original decision but even if they don't I know I have not just been fobbed off. Good Luck with your claim.
