PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Grrr... After my initial joy of receiving my MPPI cheque from Halifax on Monday (17th Oct), I've now realised that I won't be able to pay it in to my account as the cheque was written out to both my wife and myself (we don't have a joint account). When I returned the acceptance form I filled in the box stating that i would like the cheque written out to myself!. So now I've had to re-phone them up again asking for another `correct' cheque to be sent. And breathe... 1.. 2... 3.... :mad:0

Got the same letter this morning too.
It probably took longer to print, fold and post the letter than it would to give the refund.
Yea I agree, but I was just glad to hear something, hopefully the 4 week mark is way beyond what they expect, so they have plenty of time before people start phoning again!

Hi
I'm pretty new to this thread, but thought some of you may be interested in my story.
I have been in the unfortunate situation of having to take out several loans throughout the years and have been silly enough to take out the PPI which I thought was compulsory.
I started my fights with the banks well over 2 years ago and have been successful in many. My biggest success being FirstPlus. What an appalling bank that is. I had to obtain all documentation of conversations and print out of reports before pursuing it finally with FOS. We won after a long fight, in the region of £6k just over a year ago.
My other cases are with Natwest, RBS and they have been a nightmare. They wouldn't respond to FOS and disagreed with their decision and have strung this out for so long.
Over 2 years down the line FOS wrote to me in August to tell me that RBS will be following their guidlines and reinbursting me the money. I have 4 cases with them. I've just received a letter stating it could take longer (4 weeks longer) so I decided to call them.
I advised them our situation (like many others) isn't too good at the moment and I was originally told 8 weeks.
I've been given a figure of approx £7,800 gross for one, but no other details on the others?
Can someone please explain the gross figure?
Fingers crossed it won't go on for much longer cause it has been 2 years and 2 months since my original complaint.0 -

Well today I have received payment from natwest.
I am confused though, I was expecting 9226, and from what they said extra interest as they paid a week late.
I have checked and they have paid £7,885.50 into my account and
£1,962.34 onto my current loan?!
I was expecting the one lump sum of £9226 plus the "extra" interest into my account.
Is there a mistake somewhere you reckon, as usual they are not answering the phone to discuss.0 -

was the ppi on your current loan £1,962.34 by any chance? if so they have refunded this into your laon account to make the loan as it should have been without the ppi, hope that may help a little:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

PPI refund and interest are paid seperately.
I received my Natwest PPI refund in to my account yesterday, and interest in to my account today. Keep checking x0 -
