  • I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it. My son has just recieved a cheque from Lloyds TSB for mis-sold PPI. He got his calculations on a letter dated 22 August 2011. Don't know whether to frame it, auction it or cash it. He e-mailed CEO 10 October 2011 to complain about length of time it was taking to pay the redress and recieved reply e-mail from customer care manager on 13 October 2011 telling him cheque was in the post. Cheque was dated 10 October 2011. I think someone from Newport must have walked up to Scotland and put it through the letter box to save money and prevent Postman Pat from pinching all these cheques that seem to have gone astray, mine included.

After fightiing with HFC for over 18 months with the help of Di3004 l have finally been rewarded, HFC stated they destroyed all my paperwork after l requested a SAR and they would not investigate my PPI complaint, l had spoke to CS executive who advise me all details where on system. I had to persue this with over 20 letters to them and CEO got involved. Then after all this the Manager PPI department got involved and investigated and found the destroyed paperwork. I have been awarded over £3000 plus £150 for compensation. I received a email last night from Manager of complaints stating they have my acceptance and will be paid in to my account within 28 days.
Thanks to all on this site and especially Di3004:A
Dont give up because l nearly did and now glad l never.

Hi all i'm new to the site but thought I should join up and tell you about my story :T

What were you reclaiming: (eg. loan, credit card, store card)
Who was the provider: (e.g. Capital One, NatWest)
How much did you get back: ????
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: ????
And then write your brief reclaim tale

I took out a loan in 2007 with Lloyds tsb.. I printed out the template letter from this website, to be honest I didnt think I would get the money back. When I took the loan out I was 22 years old and had got myself into a bit of a mess with credit cards (which ive learnt the hard way) so decided to take out a loan to pay off everything I owed consolidating etc. I had a loan from 2005 which was coming to the end so refinanced in 2007. Anyway when I took the refinanced loan out I was told more or less I had to take the ppi out. When I came out to filling in the template letter on this site, I had kept all the loan details and ppi details, well when reading the small print it stated in this letter that I had told them I had an ongoing health condition (which I haven't).
so I wrote everything down that I could think of which would help my reclaim...
within a week of sending the letter (June 13th 2011) I had a letter to say it would take up to 16 weeks to sort out..time went on and I received a letter on the 28th september (written on the 22nd of september) to say they are offering me a refund of

    £5460.56 :j

Im very happy with this offer but I have a few questions

It states in the letter that the personal loan service will send me a statement which will show me the payment that they have made to my loan account and will confirm the outstanding balance on my loan and this takes up to 21 days..

it goes on to say they will now make arrangements for this payment to be made which will be in the form of a cheque, and that if im happy with the details and amount of the offer then I don't need to do anything.

    so my question is

Iv'e been reading some previous posts about how people have sent off letters of acceptance. Do I have to do this??? as i'm happy with the offer but the letter says I don't have to do anything..
Also, with the money I have won I want to pay off the rest of my loan which has about 6 months left on it..will lloyds automatically do this (even though I haven't asked them to) or will they Just send me a cheque with the £5,460.56?

Its been nearly a month since they sent the letter and ive still not received my cheque or a statement on my loan account?

sorry this is a long post but a bit unsure of what to do next?
    Is anyone else having problems

(well done to everyone that's managed to get success with there ppi complaints)

congratulations .... i am in the same position as well with lloyds ..i phoned them yesterday and they said they have a massive back log and i would still be waiting a few more weeks ...i asked if they could pay it straight into my lloyds bank account but they said they could but i would go back to the bottom of the queue ...so you need to hang in there .....worth it in the end though ;)

Does anyone else feel like Lloyds/Halifax are skint and can't afford to give us any money back?

So many people been given calculations, so many still waiting for that ever elusive cheque:mad:

Yeah. I still don't know how much the Halifax are giving me back. They said they've started payment process on 21st september. Heard nothing since. I'll give em a call next week (after a 4 week wait ;)); then it'll go down to 2 weeks, then it'll be 1 week then everyday - if I have to :rotfl:

Hi I wonder if anybody can help with the telephone number for HSBC PPI please

Found this previous post m8, you could try it.

    02380723838.

The number by the way gets you through to the department that sends out the acknowledgement letters, but that's better than the not obtainable number

I received two credits in to my bank account today.
And I have now realised they are NOT paying in date order.

The reason I know this is because I have got two out of three of my payments due.
Funny though, I received one which was from an acceptance dated 21/09 and one from an acceptance dated 06/10.
So what has happened to date order, and my 2nd payment attached to the acceptance letter dated 21/09??
Plus one of the payments is short.
I have no idea what they are playing at.
HI Kewee, you timescale is almost identical to ours, we started out claim off in Sept 2010 and got our letter in July 2011, today we got a credit of just over £1,000 which we know is for one loan, they still owe us £8K which Im hoping they will pay up pretty soon...

RBS PPI refund received today - at last!

Although I have to check my paperwork when I get home as the amounts seem different to those on the letter.
    Hmmmmm
Hi... yes your timescales are almost identical to ours and we got a little refund today, just for one of the loans from years ago though we are still waiting on the big one, do hope it arrives before Xmas.... keep going....

I got the good old pen and paper out and I have now worked out what they have done.

They have bulked together two of my refunds, and paid my other refund, but haven't paid any interest at all.
So I guess they think they can palm me off for a bit with just this lot (which is nice, but I want to go the whole hog!)

I am hoping tomorrow will see a bit more.
It seems there have been a deluge of payments today, so I hope everyone gets their well deserved refunds very soon!!

Wow that is great that someone has finally received a cheque from Lloyds. I have emailed the CEO but nothing from them which email address did you use? Just curious might give it a go myself. My timing is the around the same time. What did you put in the email??.

Yes they originally came back with an offer of £3K for the big loan but we challenged this and my OH got very sarky with them which they of course dont understand, being a bunch of bankers !!!!! he said give me a proper breakdown and stop messing around, so they errmmed and arhhhed he put the phone down, rang the FOS and had a little chat with them, the bank rang back within the hour with new figures, but they still owe us money from where we paid the big loan off about 7 years ago, they are saying they refunded us, we know they didnt so now they have to prove they did..... will let you know if we get anymore money in the next few days but it certainly sounds like they have got the cheque book out.. :)
