PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi All, Just realised that I should have posted this here!
Has taken some time to post, but I had news in late August on the second PPI claim that I had made - this one with Lloyds TSB.
This was a claim on a 25k Loan over 5 years that had finished in 2010 and although this was a from a legacy of past refinanced loans, it was something I wanted to pursue following my success with a recent Egg refund for £12k.
After waiting 3 months for a reply, Lloyds TSB sent a letter in August saying that they were going to pay out on the claim, but also for all past loans that I had refinanced and had a link back to the original loan in 2001. A second letter was received in September to tell me the amount.
My refund for the PPI payment with Lloyds TSB will be just over £18k
In total with both Egg and Lloyds: total refund so far £30k!
A big thanks to Money Saving Expert for all it's hard work and resources0 -
Hello!
Was just wondering if anyone had received their RBS payout yet?
I have heard people saying they are now on working day 35 with no payment yet!
Like everyone else, I am so desperate for this money now
Hi Keewee
My cheque arrived on the 28th working day. It was handwritten
I send an initial email to Stephen hester and got a generic email back which I responded sarcastically to as didn't answer any of my questions. When I received no response I forwarded the email trail to Stephen Hester and received a cheque a week later. Not sure if it was coincidince or my pushing but might be worth a few emails to the CEO.
I am using the same tactics on MBNA and they seem to be working

has anyone actually got their money since having the offer letter and how long have you had to wait?! i got my letters from lloyds tsb four weeks ago and just wondering how long i have to wait and if its worth phoning up?!
from what ive read on here over the last couple of weeks no one has received their money and their letters date back to august?! is it worth phoning up?!0 -
BANK - RBS
Amount reclaimed - circa £15k (3 loans)
Amount paid £12,400
Timescale - 3 months
I received 3 seperate reclaim packs from companies following telephone calls. On reading the information supplied I thought, surely I could do this on my own without paying hefty 20-25% charges to them for doing nothing more than them forwarding the forms to my bank.
I printed off the form from martins website and sent it along with copies of my 3 old loan agreements and a covering letter. That was about 3 months ago and I received a reply advising it could take upto 3 months. At the weekend just past i received a reply and a goodwill offer of approx £8000, £2.5k and £1.3k. Not at all bad and the best thing was NO 25% for intermediary for doing absolutely nothin.
Thanks Martin0 -

SUCESS AGAIN!! DO NOT GIVE UP FOLKS.
I just had to tell you that despite stories about their initial denial and making things difficult for those reclaiming PPI on online CC applications,
I am pleased to confirm that EGG have upheld my complaint, ( just took one letter) and I have received a refund of £1598.59 today!
I was told I wouldn't hear until about Dec but recieved my letter this morning and I also rang them to confirm.
£600 will pay off my balance saving my £156 per month and I shall get a chq for just over £900 shortly.
So, keep going guys, that's both Lloyds and Egg who have repaid and thankfully that is me done now. Good luck to the rest of you. :0)0 -

hubby rang Lloyds this morning, he was told he should see payment before the year is out
applied oct 2010, offer letter was wrote to him on august 23rd 2011. been waiting 1 year so far, and 8 weeks since offer letter.
He also asked was they keeping hold of the money to gain interest and the bloke on the line did give a rather long pause before denying it, so what does that pause tell you !!!0 -
