    Hi

Thankyou very much for the advise. Yes I think I will give it another go and see how I get on. They did state in the letter that I did have the option to go to the FSO, but aware that this is a very long winded process so would have rather have sorted out with them direct.

    Your very welcome Karen

That's the way, stand your ground, fingers crossed for you and please keep us posted, cheers. ;)

Jusy over the 16 week deadline Natwest have wriiten to me with an offer for refunding the PPI on my credit card. Card was taken out in 1994 when I was an 18 year old student.PPI was missold as I was wasn't working at the time as I was about to go to uni full time to do a degree. I didnt cancel th ePPI until 2008 when Martin went public with the misseliing info. They have offered me £3200 befor interest.

Unlike Egg they have sent a form that must be returned before a cheque is issued - 28 days from receipt of acceptance apparently. Stil should make for a good pre-Christmas boost to my account! :)

    Brilliant work!:T well done:j & Congratulations!

good morning from sunny scotland lol decided to bank my chques i got from halifax tommorow draw a line under my loan and c/c ppi ,i have a question though i had a c/c with capitalone in 2001 till 2009 cant remember acc details will have been shredded <im like that > cant remember if i had ppi either . how would i go about finding out ? anyone had dealings got a complaints number etc cheers in advance tcx

    Hiya

I would contact them direct by phone, as you had this until 2009 they should be able to confirm.
Give them a call, let us know if any problems and maybe then you could request a Subject Access Request (SAR), for a SAR they must send copies of everything they still hold going back to the last 6 years by 40 calendar days, but you enclose a payment of £10 cheque or postal order for this request, so try the above first by just giving them your account number.

    Otherwise SAR template letter below.

    Good luck.:)

    Hi all,
My evenings in front of the television have recently and often been disturbed by 'cold callers' offering to act on my behalf in the reclamation of PPI. Given my financial history with mortgage / loans etc, I would say that there is a very good chance that at some point , I have been mis-sold.
I have read the horror figures of 40% fees and the success stories of 1000's in repayment but would not know where to start.
Would the recent spate of calls indicate that I have been mis-sold PPI at some point ? Do they have 'inside' information causing them to target me or are they just chancing their arm in the hope of a bumper payout for doing very little ?. Where do they get their information from ?
Any help would be much appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi there
We all get these calls and they check data bases from when we have taken out loans/mortgages etc.

However, if you think you have a case, I would definately do this yourself, there is less paperwork involved and you will not have to part with any of your refund on success, as they can take a chunk of it.

Simply for each reclaim if mis sold, just complete a reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below, send to the head office or complaints dept of whoever set up and sold you the account, and remember to keep copies for yourself as well, in case you need to refer back to these again at some point.

There are more details on the above link as well, which you may find helpful.

    Good luck on your reclaiming.;)

    Hi

Yes you can try by doing that and as much details as possible, maybe any old addresses if this applies to you whilst taking out the card, and your date of birth as well.;)

  • Morning folks,

Hope you're all having a great weekend so far.
Having attended some lifelong chums' party last night, I think my sister got a little carried away and spoke of her PPI success, and offered her flat as a venue for our annual Xmas Eve party. However, I'm now concerned that she's spent more money in her head than she's actually likely to receive. I've been going through all her transactions paid to GE, and as a number of you lovely people have shown is how to calculate the monthly installment and PPI (+8%) we were able to come to a figure which relates to 43 payments of £32.16. However, to ask a stupid question, does it matter that the the equivalent of 43 installments was made up over 37 actual transactions? By this I am referring to any missed installments being made up by over payments? (like if my sis was £76 in arrears, she would pay two months of £300 rather then her usual £261 monthly installment?) Or is it just a case of deducting the rebate of £384 from the £1930.04 which would have been paid had the policy run for the full 60 months? It's a real head scratcher! Once we know that for sure, we can then calculate how much had been over paid and then hopefully estimate when monthly payments will end completely. ( we used this little gadget to calculate the monthly payments the FOS have stated it should have been at 10.89%, and got £215 per month. Give it a try

We'd really appreciate some advice here. My poor sis has gone from cloud nine to being a bit deflated that she may not be able to buy as many shoes as she's hoped to. :( !

FOS contacted me the other day to say that Barclays have finally upheld my cc complaint. It was initially rejected end of August but after contacting CEO and sending further info to both Barclays and FOS, perhaps that was the evidence required to overturn decision. Was exactly a year after I first made my complaint

Will receive payment details from Barclays shortly. Not even going to speculate on how much - happy just to have won - but with ppi being added onto card from 1991, hoping the interest will pile up nicely!

So, to all of you whose complaint was rejected definitely get them to reconsider before contacting FOS. If you have the evidence, hopefully, it will eventually go your way.

And I wouldn't have got this far without the useful advice on this site. Keep up the great work!

Now, hoping for same outcome from HFC...

£23,000 Happy Chappy! What good news for you.

I had a strange telephone call with Lloyds Loan section yesterday; I had called the PPI people to find out why I hadn't been paid or at least why my loan account hadn't changed (I checked online) and was passed over to the Loan Section. The lady I spoke to said that as my loan is current, any refund of PPI go straight onto paying off my loan. I was staggered because I didn't ask for PPI in the first place, I thought I would have the £3400 put in a cheque and sent to me. Is is true that if you have a current loan, your PPI refund goes towards paying off your loan?
Hi there,if you have arrears on this loan they can take the redress off this,if you dont have arrears then i would ask them to give this refund back to you.
