Good luck Tokapi....have got my fingers crossed for the both of us !!!
You won't be surprised to know that the money is NOT in my account today. Where do we go from here? Will they add more interest on for the later payment and will that then delay it even more? I would not mind but I didn't even ask what date it would be paid in - they told me.
Once this is all over I would like to change banks but they all seem much the same. Is there a bank out there that anyone could recommend? If there is it must be a very short list! :mad:0 -

Im trying to be patient but this business of checking my account everyday only to be disapointed when there is no money paid in is driving me nuts.
i need the money to buy an angagement ring dammit. the chick doesnt know yet about all this, and its getting harder by the day to conceal both my excitement and my flapping.

Having read many media articles ( including your comprehensive article) re the mis-selling of PPI I decided to have a go myself. I contacted my bank (First Direct) and asked them to forward to me details of three loans and respective PPI they had sold me since I had become a customer of theirs in September 1992. I was aware of 3 seperate loans I had from them which included PPI. Although I had not made a complaint to First Direct I received a response from them indicating 'my complaint was being referred to customers service' and I would be contacted, in addition I was supplied with the details of the 3 loans and respective PPI. After a few weeks I was contacted by phone by First Direct and interviewed for about 10 minutes in relation to my PPI. The main thrust of my arguement was two fold (A) I felt by taking the offerred PPI I stood a better chance of being allowed the loan, and (B) I was fortunate enough with my job to that I would continue to recieve full pay in the event of sickness for 12 months - so did I really need PPI.
The end result was that the bank upheld by complaint, and offered a settlement figure in respect of the three loans I was aware of and a 4th loan which I had completely forgotten about. The refund of my PPI and appropriate interest totalled £7,200.
Thank you very much First Direct and thank you for your comprehensive article.
If I can do it - anyone with a reasonable case should at least give it a try. It cost me nothing, not even a first class stamp!!
