    Hi friends,
    Well, I feel as if a lot of you are friends. Although this is my first time posting, I've been lurking in the background a long time, reading the forums - mostly the funny threads. Awhile back, though, I started reading the PPI threads and decided to follow Martin's advice on claiming back my PPI which I genuinely felt had been missold. I'd previously tried (twice) to claim on it for long-term illness and twice they wriggled out of it on a technicality which I was not made aware of at the time of taking it out. Basically, I had an accident and hurt my lower back which incapacitated me for about 9 months. When I tried to claim on the insurance, they said that it wasn't covered as I'd previously had a strained muscle in my upper back/neck (whiplash about 6 years perviously following a car shunt)....this was only muscular - had all the tests at the time and it cleared up with some simple painkillers and a couple of weeks rest. However, when I hurt my lower back (had a slipped disc demonstrated on x-rays), they said "a back is a back".
    Anyway, after reading the forum, I decided to lodge a claim for mis-selling. I followed Martin's claim plan and filled in the form, printed it out and sent it off to Barclaycard. I got 3 delaying letters - each time puting the response date further and further off.
    Today, however, I just received their letter saying they upheld my complaint and making me a first and final offer of - wait for it - can hardly believe it myself - a whopping £62,784 !!!!!
    So needless to say, I'm a very happy bunny today and wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Martin, his team, and all you helpful forum people.....you really are a great bunch of people and I just wanted to let you know, if you are thinking about it, or are waiting for a decision - don't give up hope.
    Thanks again friends

    :rotfl: Yesterday I received a cheque from egg for £52.41, a refund of CPR premiums paid plus interest (I cancelled it sharpish when I realised I had it, but they never refunded the payments made at the start of the agreement). It only took one letter! Hurrah! :T

    Well done to you!:T:beer::j
