Phoned the halifax today and was informed after 7 weeks from sending the acceptance letter I have a letter en route :j They have given me a figure over the phone but wondered if anyone could advise if the offer is correct. Its mortgage PPI by the way with the original loan of 41750. Payments were as follows -
Thanks in advance the offer was around £5280 which was payments refund and 8% simple interest.
Year 2000 14.46 * 12
Year 2001 13.83 * 12
Year 2002 13.17 * 12
Year 2003 12.90 * 6
Year 2003 37.32 * 6
Year 2004 38.82 * 12
Year 2005 38.54 12
Year 2006 22.02 * 12
Year 2007 23.06 * 12
Year 2008 41.41 * 12
Year 2009 34.61 * 12
Year 2010 34.61 * 12
Year 2011 34.61 * 7
The ppi you have paid to date is £3.838.31
Go on the bank charge calculator and put the ppi amounts in and the date and year for each one, this will keep a running total of the ppi you paid and the 8%.

amers, it was in relation to something marksman had said on another thread, i think it was lloyds payment timescales, where several people didn't like his points about not spending or using the ppi redress for specific timescaled things before they actually have the money in their bank accounts. ie the bank tells you they'll give you the money in ten days time, so they pay a deposit on a car and to pay the rest by a certain date, and low and behold the bank doesn't pay out on time and they lose the car and the deposit they paid on it.
People weren't actually spending going by the banks guidlines were they :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: more fools them!!!0 -

i agree, with the timescales as they are now, i would hang fire too
I have always advocated waiting
my turn to get shot down in flames now:p:p:p
No amount of telephoning and e mailing gets you any further forward, you get it when you get it0 -

Not that I got any joy really just over and over again told "we endeavour to pay you within 28 working days" - mine is now overdue!!
Hope this helps
Thanks - how overdue is yours?0 -

They say up to 28 working days to pay so i've got it marked on my calendar and am on a countdown, I just want to know how much the loan will be reduced by and what still needs to paid off.
But it was quite funny looking back to Saturday, i'm on the phone to other companies seeking settlement figures which are no use as it'll be the best part of two months away, lol. At least I came to my senses. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

Thanks for the replies about the calcs. Looks correct, Halifax looks have done something correct :j Has anyone else got offer amount via letter and how long before the cheuqe arrives? Not another 7 wks I hope. When I spoke to the lady she said once I sign the amount and send off then cheque will be issued. But previously I have spoken to others who have said the letter will come with cheque or cheque will arrive shortly after? Anyone got any experience of this? Thanks all for your help :beer:0
