OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!! I've just come home to a letter from Barclays...I have had some loans that I re-financed dating back to 2000, including a big one for £30k when I had my extension built. I though I might get £2000 maybe. Imagine my surprise when I read my estimate letter....£14,728.32. To say I am gobsmacked is an understatement!!!! And to sweeten it further, another letter with £197 for overdraft PPI. Now just waiting for offer on husband's loans which were refused as they said they had no details of, but I had sent the policies with the claim forms...so I emailed Bob Diamond on Saturday, and got another letter today to say it had been re-opened.

£14000 - oh my word! Thank you to this forum...holiday in Florida already booked. Daughter's driving lessons booked. Refurbishment of dining room! Yay!!! I am sooo happy! :money::money::money::money:

Well done Sandy, just as marksman had said on another thread, don't spend it till you get it, it could be a long wait for the money, but very well done an amazing amount of winnings to get, hope you get it soon, and hope you get a result with your hubbys loans too.

Me and my Mrs have already had £5.5k from Clydesdale and I'm waiting on just over £10k from RBs, and have a claim in on a loan with Halifax, CC with BoS, and have a mortgage TMP cover with Halifax ready to get posted in the morning, woohoo.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Personally I cant understand it, I've backed you up on the thread as well to say that everything you said was true, I'm as guilty of doing it, holding back on the spending though, have a clear CC to use but resisiting spending on it, at least this has taught me something anyway.:D

Thank you, I appreciate the help ;)

it is so tempting to buy/ cover debts knowing the figures and everybody is guilty of it and i just wanted to nudge people into thinking first
    (abuse to follow im sure).

    As
    a) this may be the chance
    to be debt free
    b) to manger debts without ending up in more debt.

No one here is here to offend, im just looking out for you all honest
    ;):D

  • Well I have given up on the cretins at Natwest for today. I did find a fax number by dialling the next number to the telephone number I have as their contact number.

0161 755 6891, so I have sent this a fax asking them to call me, thought it was worth a try. Not sure if this is on the letter I received as the fax number, as don't have the letter with me at work.

After cleaning up coffee (thanks Smitchy !!) I thought I'd do a little update type thingy....
Tomorrow RBS 28 days are up (acceptance recieved by them 2nd Sept)
After re-reading the decision letter for the gazillionth time, I noticed it said that they would be paying my spends direct to my current account as I owe them nothing, last loan paid off nearly two years ago.

Reading threads on here regarding payment by cheque from RBS I've noticed people are not recieving their payments within the 'aimed for' 28 days.

Has anyone else on this site had payment from RBS direct to their accounts and if so has it been within the 28 days??
To be honest I'm really not holding out any hope whatsoever that my money will be in my account tomorrow but we shall see. Apparently miracles do happen.....

On a good note, 2 of my work colleagues are now claiming for misold PPI after I told them about this site and how helpful and friendly EVERYBODY on this site is :T:T:T:T
Insanity is just a constant phase I'm going through

Sorry about the coffee sara, hope your pc screen can be cleaned easily, :rotfl:

Not had payment from RBS but did get my offer letter on Saturday and signed and sent back acceptance which was received yesterday. On the count down of the days now.

Did you count the 28 days as working days? Or just days, adds on a couple of extra weeks. Hope you get your money soon though.:D;)
Thanks to all the competition posters.
