I had a loan a few years ago with Welcome Finance. I still owed them some money and was paying it back. I claimed back the PPI and with the interest it was £4,000 This paid off the loan and there was still some cash left over for me. THANKS AGAIN.
Hey & well done on ur success!
I also am going through getting PPI back thrw Welcome Finance, can I ask you how long it took from sending off ur form etc.. Odv I've gone thrw FSCS.
I had my loan back in 2005 and paid it off in 2007

Mine was 16 weeks from the initial submission of the claim. LTSB initially stated eight but at the end of that deadline then extended it by a further eight weeks.

Hi
I have just received a letter from lloydstsb with a final letter with an offer of £11,062.12 Which to my amazement!!
All I done was to Telephone the Loan centre with details of an old loan and gave me other loan details when I had these I called the Customer care for PPI....all I done was relayed the details to the operator and that was it....I waited 15 weeks to get the final letter...
The total was for 4 loans dating back to 2001
I didn't fill out any forms or send in letters
If anyone is thinking of claiming then.......DO IT......I cost me Nothing!!

It was the very first offer I had received so I accepted immediately and banked the cheque but now after all the investigation I have done I realise I made a mistake..Do you think I have a case of going back to them now or do I chalk it upto inexperience and think myself lucky I got the £700.
Hi
I do think its worth a shot personally, so do give it a go, you never know they may consider this, as I stated above, mention that you were not aware of the interest that you should have been entitled to and you have since learnt more about this and believe you should have received this, and requesting they will consider this for you.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
JennyJenJen wrote: »My understanding is that is correct to reduce the balance of the loan for that part because keeping the loan at the higher amount does not put you in the position you would have been in if you had never had the PPI. They refund you what you have paid plus interest, but anything you havent paid is rebated to the loan balance as if they give it back to you they are keeping you in debt that you dont need to be in and wouldnt have been in if the PPI hadnt been missold in the first place
Does that make sense?
I think that makes sense JennyJenJen.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

After reading about PPI mis-selling on MSE I downloaded the form and letter template, but given that my PPI was sold with an endowment Halifax mortgage that finished about 6 years ago I didn't think I would get a response as I hadn't read about any success stories on PPI claims against OLD mortgages.
Anyway I sent the form and letter off about 8 weeks ago, and very much to my surprise I received a letter last Friday informing me that that the bank will be sending me a cheque for £4,000!!!
I still can't believe it.....THANK YOU MSE AND MARTIN!!!!0 -
Hiya
Are they saying they did not sell this account?
I would give the FOS a ring and explain, what they may do is suggest the underwriter/insurer of the policy, in which they may know.
Not Lloyds by any chance maybe? xx;)
Morning Di
We have to go for the underwriter of the policy who was Genworth Insurance back then, what do you know about them Di?0
