  • Still waiting for my Natwest PPI payment. Form was received on 5th September so if its 28 working days (they told me 28 days) then it should be with me on Wednesday I reckon.

But I've no idea whaty they are like in regards payments and if they make them on time.

I keep calling them and it just rings and rings and rings and rings....

Hey, I'm a newbie! I have read this thread and it is very good. I have also spent a lot of today on the phone to HSBC. I can't get through on the same number you quoted and when I called telephone banking they couldn't give me a number then they put me through to Aviva insurance who said it was nothing to do with them. grrr.

When I got through to telebanking the second time they said they had no numbers and there was a large backlog of complaints and that I would hear something at 16 weeks. I received a standard letter last week saying this also however the phone number at the bottom of the letter does not work.

HSBC does seem to be fairly frustrating to deal with on this matter. I have also emailed them to claim for my Mortgage repayment protection and card repayment protection.

    CP

I have rang the number over 100 times in the last hour on my mobile, sometimes it rings and others it says user busy.
The other number wouldn't say when i would get my money. They said i will receive a letter in 2-5 working days.

Thats not good enough, its been 21 now and i was told today! i want my money!

    HSBC are a complete joke

Well done, do you mid me asking what your reasons for mis-sell were?

Hi there - when we took out the mortgage it was sold as being the answer to our prayers should the worse happen and redundancy kick in. However, 6 months later I got made redundant and it was a nightmare to get the policy to kick in and after several weeks I got a new job before the policy would even kick in. It was not what it was sold as, and at no point was it clear the stipulations to get an eventual payment towards the mortgage. My issue was though, that I became a contractor from that point on and called to say I didn't think the policy would ever pay out as the nature of my employment had changed. The advisor I spoke to would not acknowledge the change of circumstances and said it should be kept up just in case, even though I thought it would never pay out as there are no redundancies with contractors really - just breaks between jobs, so badly advised was my argument from that phone call in 2005 to last year when I cancelled.
  • Hi,

The best number for HSBC customer relations is 0800 881 155 -I understand your frustrations with the other numbers.

You'll need your sort-code and account number (which can be your PPI ones off your letter).

A note of caution - I have discovered they have 'lost / not received' my acceptance of offer form which I returned on 17th September, so they are re-sending it. Do keep chasing them!

    Successes so far::j

    Egg loan- £7,320
HSBC (when they finally pay) - £5,371
Egg Credit Cards - Cheques have been issued

im ringing the 0800 number again! i have just tried 02380 number and it rang 5 times then cut of! Tried ringing it back and it says user busy! not good enough!

EDIT: i have now been told it gets paid after 4pm (something i have not been told at all!)

EDIT 2: The complaints desk does not know if my money will be going in today. The team that deals with it has the message to ring me but haven't picked it up yet. I told them i will be checking my account after 4pm and if it isn't in there i will be ringing them back.

    Hi

I do think its worth a shot personally, so do give it a go, you never know they may consider this, as I stated above, mention that you were not aware of the interest that you should have been entitled to and you have since learnt more about this and believe you should have received this, and requesting they will consider this for you.

    Good luck.;)

    thanks Di

Do you have any contact numbers to begin with
  • Try: 0800 881 155

Hello! I have managed to FINALLY get through to Natwest today. I sent my acceptance letter back over a week ago and was today told they received it on Friday, GRRRR.
I asked about my previous acceptance letters (received by them on the 21st Sep) and was told they are 'trying' to make payments within the 28 working days, BUT are flat out and many are not making the timeframe! Not impressed at all. Thinking about slapping on a bit of extra interest and maybe a £6 a day fee for taking so long?!!
