    Advice please

We had a loan with black horse which we finished in 2002 I have the account no and I sent the missale questionnaire to them. They returned it saying they couldn't locate the old account. I called them and was told it wasn't one of there account no's when I know it was. I unfortunately have no paperwork details of the loan, where do I go from here? All I have is the account no.

    Hiya

Are they saying they did not sell this account?

I would give the FOS a ring and explain, what they may do is suggest the underwriter/insurer of the policy, in which they may know.
Not Lloyds by any chance maybe? xx;)

Thanks Martin....I put a claim in for PPI on a graduate loan I took out in 2000. I had kept all of the paper work and filled in the claim questionaire. My complaint was that they never told me that the PPI was optional and I was under the impression that I would not get the loan if I didn't take out the PPI. Just had an offer letter for £1945.71!!!

  • Hi Guys,

Posted earlier but it has disappeared, got a £2,600 settlement from egg but they are sending £1k of it to moorgate who now finance the loan"to put the loan to the amount it would have been at had i not taken ppi"
Can i ask for this money or does it legally have to come off the loan?

I received my figures from Halifax over the phone.

I'll post the breakdown when I receive my letter in the next few days, but in round figures I have been offered £3900 for my loans and £3,400 forr my credit card.

    So basically £7,300 in total.

I'm happy with the loan figures, but not happy the APR interest on the card.

They have told me that if I want to dispute it, I am welcome to, but I will go to the back of the queue.

I think I will ring the ombudsman on Monday and ask them if this fails their TCF remit or not, and I may even put in a separate complaint saying that I accept their payment as part payment of my redress whilst they look into doing it properly.

Thanks Di, yes they are saying the account no I have is not one of theirs. I will give the FOS a call in the morning.
  • Hi all

My sister has been intrigued by me being promised all this money back from mis-sold PPIs and is wonderdering if there is any way she could claim back on one she had a few years ago. The problem we have is the fact that she emigrated a few years ago to New Zealand. She did ask me to send her some of these companies to see if they would claim it back for her but the one that she did contact said it had to be before 6 years. I told her that this wasnt necessay - does anyone think there is any way she could claim this back even though she lives away now? I dont mind her using my address if it would be possible without her using one of these companies.
  • Another request for any help/information - I had an "upheld" claim from HSBC a couple of months back and we were really skint at the time and need the money and so I accepted it. It was for £1400 on a credit card that had a £9000 limit on it and it was just for the PPI payments that I had made but no interst at all. They said they could only go back 6 years unless I had any proof but I havent so ok. I am now wondering if anyone thinks it would be possible, even though I accepted their offer and have received the monies, to write to them stating that I should have had compound interst on this? Do you think its worth it or would I be wating my time and to just leave it now?

I had 4 old loans from years ago from NatWest I claimed back PPI with your download form and sent it to NatWest. I did not hear anything for months. Then I was told Natwest had lost one of the original loan agreements. But I then wrote to the Financial Ombudsman. I have recently had PPI payments for all 4 loans plus interest adding up to £7,807.31. THANKYOU SO MUCH. I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN HOW TO DO THIS WITHOUT THE HELP OF YOUR WEBSITE. XXX PS. I am now trying to get back unfair bank charges.

    Hi there
Yes I found your other post on the PPI discussion thread.;)

Hope this info helps below, good luck.
    (copied and pasted below).

    Hi there

    Well done on your success!

Did they confirm this before they refunded this onto the account?

I understand some do this and others do not, if there is still a loan that's ongoing anything remaining plus interest should be awarded directly to you.;)
There is no harm in asking them, if there were no arrears/missed payments and you have kept up to date, you can write and tell them that, and tell them you would have preferred to have received your refund paid directly to you, as you've already been deprived of your money in the first place.

Give it a go if you want to good luck.:)
