    Hi all

My sister has been intrigued by me being promised all this money back from mis-sold PPIs and is wonderdering if there is any way she could claim back on one she had a few years ago. The problem we have is the fact that she emigrated a few years ago to New Zealand. She did ask me to send her some of these companies to see if they would claim it back for her but the one that she did contact said it had to be before 6 years. I told her that this wasnt necessay - does anyone think there is any way she could claim this back even though she lives away now? I dont mind her using my address if it would be possible without her using one of these companies.

    Hiya

Yes I think it will be ok, afterall when she was here, she was still mis sold a policy and she can write your address as a postal/mailing address, do give it a go, good luck x;)

Another request for any help/information - I had an "upheld" claim from HSBC a couple of months back and we were really skint at the time and need the money and so I accepted it. It was for £1400 on a credit card that had a £9000 limit on it and it was just for the PPI payments that I had made but no interst at all. They said they could only go back 6 years unless I had any proof but I havent so ok. I am now wondering if anyone thinks it would be possible, even though I accepted their offer and have received the monies, to write to them stating that I should have had compound interst on this? Do you think its worth it or would I be wating my time and to just leave it now?

If you don't try you will never know, just tell them you are more knowledgable on this now and didn't realise earlier about the interest, where you believe its only fair they should have as well offered this, so are requesting they look into this for you as a valued customer of HSBC.

    Fingers crossed x;)

I had 4 old loans from years ago from NatWest I claimed back PPI with your download form and sent it to NatWest. I did not hear anything for months. Then I was told Natwest had lost one of the original loan agreements. But I then wrote to the Financial Ombudsman. I have recently had PPI payments for all 4 loans plus interest adding up to £7,807.31. THANKYOU SO MUCH. I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN HOW TO DO THIS WITHOUT THE HELP OF YOUR WEBSITE. XXX PS. I am now trying to get back unfair bank charges.

    Welll done to you!:T & Congratulations!

Good luck on the charges as well x;)

I had a loan a few years ago with Welcome Finance. I still owed them some money and was paying it back. I claimed back the PPI and with the interest it was £4,000 This paid off the loan and there was still some cash left over for me. THANKS AGAIN.

Hi Not sure if you saw my previous post... I called Lloyds again on Friday and was told that their calculator was faulty and consequently all cheque refunds had been on hold for the previous 2 weeks. The have now fixed it but are issuing refunds from Mid August at the moment. My letter was 8/9/11 and I was told I should have my cheque within the next 2 weeks..Not sure if this helps.....

I'm waiting on recalculation from Lloyds. I cannot believe that they only have one so called 'calculator' for the whole of Lloyds! They're so rubbish!
    And such blaggers!
Good luck with the cheque :j

    Hi Guys,

Posted earlier but it has disappeared, got a £2,600 settlement from egg but they are sending £1k of it to moorgate who now finance the loan"to put the loan to the amount it would have been at had i not taken ppi"
Can i ask for this money or does it legally have to come off the loan?

    Hi there
Yes I found your other post on the PPI discussion thread.;)

Hope this info helps below, good luck.
    (copied and pasted below).

    Hi there

    Well done on your success!

Did they confirm this before they refunded this onto the account?

I understand some do this and others do not, if there is still a loan that's ongoing anything remaining plus interest should be awarded directly to you.;)
There is no harm in asking them, if there were no arrears/missed payments and you have kept up to date, you can write and tell them that, and tell them you would have preferred to have received your refund paid directly to you, as you've already been deprived of your money in the first place.

Give it a go if you want to good luck.:)

My understanding is that is correct to reduce the balance of the loan for that part because keeping the loan at the higher amount does not put you in the position you would have been in if you had never had the PPI. They refund you what you have paid plus interest, but anything you havent paid is rebated to the loan balance as if they give it back to you they are keeping you in debt that you dont need to be in and wouldnt have been in if the PPI hadnt been missold in the first place

    Does that make sense?

Same here with me Di...I accepted an offer on mbna of £700 when the ppi I paid was £1300 without any interest being added...this was at least 2 years ago maybe 3 years. It was the very first offer I had received so I accepted immediately and banked the cheque but now after all the investigation I have done I realise I made a mistake..Do you think I have a case of going back to them now or do I chalk it upto inexperience and think myself lucky I got the £700.
