Give them a call or send them an email now and again.

Mine is now with the adjudicator that works closely with the ombudsman, the FOS agree to uphold this and now its down to LLoyds, awaiting for an outcome on this for this Friday, good luck with yours hun, I'm sure it will all be okay.;)

I posted a few months back on my success with my Egg loan.

When Egg wrote to me about my credit cards, after their mammoth fine, I telephoned them to query it. I had tried on a number of occasions to cancel my ppi on my cards. So, after their investigation I received two cheques from them on Saturday - totalling just over £200!!!!

Well I signed up end October read all the posts and finally decided to give it a go. Sent the first letter requesting t&c 3rd Nov. 25th Nov I sent request for payment. Received letter 22nd Dec that they are investigating. Received a letter on 2nd Feb offering me £522.17 yeaaaaah baby! So pleased. Thank you to Martin:money: you are a star bless you bless. :T :rotfl: :j Honestly I was a little sceptical but it worked out perfectly. Just got Egg and Lloyds to go now!

Please go for it it costs nothing but a couple of stamps.

I phoned them today, as it's around 8 weeks and was told a letter was generated today saying they are refunding it. No hassle at all, no letters were needed. Very simple process.

* How many stages to success: After first template letter.
* Brief Tale: 15/12/08 Sent off first template letter for Loan 1 (repayment complete) via recorded delivery.

21/12/08 Sent off first template letter for Loan 2 (repayment ongoing) via recorded delivery.

31/12/08 Received acknowledgement for both letters and notice that investigation will take place for both loans.

13/01/09 Received letter to say investigation is still ongoing and may continue up to a further 4 weeks.

04/02/09 Received letter to say investigation is complete and claim has been upheld. Acceptance was form included and a note to say that my branch will contact me to restructure Loan 2 to take off PPI of remaining payments. The letter pointed out that repayment will be made within 5 working days of new loan documents having been signed and acceptance letter having been received by the bank.

05/02/09 Sent back acceptance form via recorded delivery

05/02/09 Called HSBC to arrange branch meeting for loan restructure.

13/02/09 Meeting at branch. New loan docs signed. Repayments for Loan 2 reduced from c£257 to c£209, at same APR and term.

17/02/09 Refund money deposited into my current account at close of business

Over a year ago now I tried to reclaim om my egg loan as i was missold the insurance on the fact that they told me if i didn't take the PPI then i wouldn't get the loan. I contacted Egg about it and they said that they had lost the phone convo (funny that) and felt that i would have never been missold the PPI so I have to go to the financial OM and after a year I am also still waiting for my case to be allocated - who would i email to chase this? does anyone know?

This loan was taken out in 2002 so not a bad result - getting a cheque from them in 14 days:j thanks Martin!
