  • Good afternoon,

Can anyone help me with information regarding PPI reclaiming and my next step. I have today just recieved my second letter stating from Egg that they require more time to investigate my PPI reclaiming, they have already had 9 weeks. Can anyone help with with information as they are now suggesting to contact FSO !!!!

I would get the forms from the FOS and start a complaint and if Egg come back with refund in the meantime just let the FOS know.

  • Hi there just wanted to post this.
    • What were you reclaiming: Loan ppi on two loans
    • Who was the provider: Halifax
    • How much did you get back: £205.04 so far £1896 outstanding but they have agreed to refund
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: One letter for each loan sent end of December and one of the cheques arrived this morning
Have put two claims in and they have agreed to refund both so just waiting for other cheque now for £1896.00

Halifax have been very reasonable and quick to respond, and so they should considering they told us on both occasions that the PPI was essential to get the loan !

Definately going to try and reclaim the bank charges now

    Hi there
You are within your rights to go to the FOS now as they have had more than the 8 weeks to respond.

Unfortunately the waiting time at the FOS at the moment is about 1 year as they are extremely busy.

You can download the Complaints form from the FOS Web Site.

    Good Luck;)

Soz Pinknico forgot to refresh page. x

  • Good afternoon to everyone I have 2 claims still in process one with hsbc and one with capital one thing is i have cleared the full outstanding balance of the hsbc credit card and will be doing the same with capital one shortly. I have taken a loan out (without ppi) to pay this credit card off. My question is if these 2 cards are cleared off and maybe cancelled will the claims still be in progress or will they stop the clams.
    Thanks

    Hi folks

Just thought Id keeep you up to date on my ongoing saga with Loanmakers.
Finally in June the case was assigned to an adjudacator with the FOS, today a very nice lady a the FOS phoned me at work to tell me that they had UPHELD my complaint with Loanmakers:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T.

BUT Loanmakers had comback with a raft of reasons why they dispute the verdict:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:.
However she said that it was being passed on to get a final decision and she was very confident of them agreeing with her decision, apparently Loanmakers are renowned for this:T:T:T.

Fingers x I should hear good news, Its been going on since December whats another couple of months.

Hi folks just an update on my ppi sitaution
Got a letter from FOS on the 19th Dec appologising but they still hadnt been able to pass it onto an adjudacator.
Phoned them this morning to find out what was happening and they still havent been able to move it on.I know they are very busy people but this is really dragging on.

Have 3 other claims (2 Welcome Finance and 1 Direct Auto Finance) with Dawson Hart Solicitors been with them since May and phoned them yesterday after having to fill out 3 questionaires twice over they still havent been able to pass them on to council..

AAAAARGH this is taking for ever:mad:

    Hi there

Do you mean if they are settled, can they still continue with the claims?
The answer is yes, this makes no difference if still active or settled.;)

Hope I have not mis read this lol, but not to worry either way otherwise.

    Good luck.

This is my first post so forgive me if I make a silly mistake...

I was consistently missold PPI on a NatWest loan, beginning in Oct 2003. I topped up the loan in May 2004 and again in Jan 2005. Having pestered NatWest with letters (them denying I'd ever had PPI, because they couldn't find their paperwork, until I sent them proof, etc etc) since Sept 2008, I yesterday received a 'goodwill gesture' offer of £1500 for the first two loans. They're still investigating my last, and current, loan but it was very obviously missold (I said I didn't want PPI, he said "you won't get this loan unless you take it") so I'm hoping they'll pay out even more soon!
Thanks so much Martin for all your advice!

I've just had another offer from NatWest - they've offered me an additional £2600, on top of the £1500, bringing the total I've claimed back to £4100!
Thanks so much for all the great advice on here, this money will clear 2 credit cards, my overdraft, and a bit of my final credit card! I'm almost there!
  • Great Result.. well done for sticking in there.
