Having put in a claim for 2 separate loans back in december with HSBC I held little hope of successfully reclaiming any money, working on the assumption that "It wont happen to me". However I have today received a settlement of £1129, and upon checking the details also realized that this is in settlement of only one of the loans.
So to cut a long story short, for the cost of £0.31 I am today in possession of over a grand that I never thought I'd see again.
Once again thanks for all the help, I will now be waiting with baited breath to see the outcome of the 2nd claim.0 -

I've just had a letter from HSBC telling me that I'll be getting £5250 back from my PPI premiums.
I took out my first loan with them in 2000 when I was working in a commision-based sales role. Their salesperson tols me that to qualify for the loan I had to take the PPI because only a portion of my income was guaranteed. I knew no better so took it.
I took out two further loans, each consolidating the last, with HSBC and actually paid my last installment in Jan this year. Because if the initial mis-selling and because I am still a commissioned salesperson I never questioned the PPI and it was never raised when I took the new loans out.
I used the templates on this webite, sent the first letter to them in Dec last year, had two back in the interim telling me they were still investigating and then one on Friday with a breakdown of what they were offering- which is exactly what I asked for, including the 8% interest for the PPI on all 3 loans! Not bad going at all seeing as I was expecting about £1800.

My wife's just called to say we've had our letter and cheque from Nationwide (finally) from our PPI reclaim. To the grand total of £3520.22
We are, understandably, well chuffed!
Sent my first letter on 7th Jan 07 - so this has been going on sometime. Ended up with the FOS who took >6 months to assign an adjudicator. When they did they were quick in ruling in my favour and reccomending Nationwide repay the PPI.
YAY, we got there in the end. Big, Big thanks to Martin and the team for their advice and template letters0
