  • Hi,

I put in a claim for missold PPI on two loans on the 19th of December, having had the usual letters I chased them this morning via phone, I did actually get to speak to my claim handler which was a bit of a shock, who informed me that he would be looking at it "sometime next week", the 8 week period is up on the 18th, my question being is it usual for them to leave it right till the very last day under the pretense of "Investigation"

    Thanks

Have you chased the FO and Tesco up? what did they say? I would get seriously on their backs now because you will have a signed agreement saying they are refunding. If you have been waiting 12months and have been chasing getting no where if it was me i would go file a smalll claims case agianst them. Kick their !!!! in court. You have agreed the refund so you should have no trouble getting the court to make them pay up now.....

No, it has taken 12 months to get the letter saying they are refunding me in full. I sent the letter off and after looking in to it Tesco refused sent another later and again they refused so contacted the FO and they then said they will look into it for me.

Every 6 weeks or so for the first few months i would get a letter saying due to backlog they still looking into this. The letters dried up and to be honest forgot all about it for the time being. Untill i got a letter the other day saying for me to sign the letter if you want to settle and should be with you within 8 weeks.

    Happy Days
  • Have received a reply from the adjudicator re a claim from first plus and they have upheld all of my complaint, and they have asked me to sign a form and return this to them to confirm that I agree, which I have done, they advised that unless First Plus have any more information that is relevant then they have to sign as well, can anyone come back to advise if First plus can still contest this
  • anyone had success claiming PPI from advantage finance... trying to get £2300 back for a car i bought via one of their (dodgy) dealers..
1st letter was the usual.."everything was above board and thats that"
so second letter with a similar reply... now no holds barred... onto the FOS;)

Hi there, give them until the 18th and if you've not heard, as 8 weeks is ample time to investigate, then contact the financial ombudsman service, they will direct you from there.
Good luck hope you hear and hope its good news.;)

To what I can recall, this is normal practice, but normally when the FOS agree for this to be upheld its generally in your favour, I expect this will be just fine.;)

I have not actually come across that company before, but I imagine people have.

Now that you've had that last letter have they confirmed you can now move on to the FOS?

    Good luck with this.;)

  • Took out a loan from A&L in late 2006.......Sent first template letter on 30 January 2009 ( also emailed a copy of it same day). Received offer from them dated 9 February 2009 refunding all PPI payments to date plus 8% interest; £1567 and reducing the monthly repayments by £47 per month for the remaining 11 months of the loan.

Have accepted the offer today and will await the cheque; what a result...many thanks Martin for your marvellous advice
