PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Have done that, the PPI was a single premium payment of £2400 plus the interest which took it upto £3,600. The gentleman I spoke with at lloyds was quite shocked when I went through it all with him, thank god for fax machines. I always make it a point to save financial documents so had my policy at home waiting with all the details on it.
Does anyone know if the settlement that was made in 2007 should be on record with lloyds and how I would get it.?
thanks0 -

Hi Aggy
Yes fax machines can come in handy.;)
Yes Lloyds should keep everything they have on you for the last 6 years, give them a call hun and ask them for a copy of the settlement and calculations of 2007, they must supply these for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
This is not my day, spoke to Lloyds finance team and they have no record of the loan, they put me through to my branch who also have no record of it, at this point I stated the 6 year rule and they put me through to another team who have only the one loan on record for me started in Aug 2007....
I have the policy number and the documents....Am I in some flipping carry on film..?0 -
Well what a week i have had. Got a letter today off the financial ombudsman to say that HFC abnk / beneficial were refunding all my ppi payments with interest paid and 8% statutory as a goodwill gesture. The money would take 6-8weeks to be refunded. Yahoo!!!
I rang Royal bank of scotland to chase up my cheque for the ppi (they too are settling as per the FO as a goodwill gesture). I found some very useful information out for everyone claiming back ppi. The FO have made agreements with some companies, the two i know of for a fact are HFC bank and Royal bank of scotland / Natwest that any complaints about PPI are just being settled. They are being passed from the ombudsman to the company in bulk in order of date and just being settled (as a gesture of goodwill). The dept dealing with RBS also deals with Halifax and Natwest ppi too and are in Manchester
So......... anyone compalining about PPI with RBS, Halifax, Natwest or HFC bank you are pretty much guaranteed settlement if you do the following:
. Follow the steps as per this website get a final response or wait out the 8weeks (give them chance to put it right)
. If no joy fill in the FO complaints form
. You will have to wait a few months (i have) but you will get a letter saying you are being settled as a goodwill gesture
Hope this helps i have only 1 outstanding complaint now thats with Welcome finance.... OMG nearly there!:jMY Successes = RBS PPI, RBS bank charges, Aqua PPI, Aqua cc charges, HFC PPI, Welcome Finance PPI, Blackhorse PPI Mums Ongoing= Swift Advances PPI, London Scottish PPI, Blackhorse chgs, GE money pyts missing

Hi Aggy
They seem to know what's going on here and are possibly fobbing you off, it may mean you have to request a Subject Access request, as they MUST keep records for at least 6 years and I have even received information from Lloyds that have gone back further than 6 years, I would ring the information commissioners office here:
https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
Give these a ring hun and let us know what they say, explain what you have told us here, they may be able to suggest something.
I would be inclined now to give a higher figure to the FOS for all the inconvenience lloyds have caused and even let the FOS know they told you they do not have records of your loan here of 2007, they will even think there's something going on here.;) As this is not right.
Just a thought Aggy, what year did you take out the loan before the August 2007 loan, and was the August loan to pay off the earlier loan sort of thing?
Because even if you had taken out the loan more than 6 years ago on the previous one, they should still have the calculations of that one in 2007 to go onto the new loan if you know what I'm saying ? XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

The Loan was taken out in September 2005 with the final payment in August 2007, I had to cancel that loan and pay it off by taking out another loan for the settlement amount starting a new loan.
Spoke to the Ombudsman and told him of this development and he has tried to get the details for me and he has also hit a brick wall with them. Am starting to get the impression I may have to walk into my local branch and throw a tantrum.0 -
