Has anyone had any luck clamming ppi back from welcome finance?

Catinthehat they have taken off the loan the PPI you havent paid for yet, they cant refund you the £5000 odd figure as you haven't paid it yet, you would only get that if you had settled the loan. You should get all payments made plus interest on those payments plus 8%.
Just my opinion though.xxxDS1 12/10/04

Hi there
Good news on the refund.....:T , but sorry to hear about the other bother here.
I'm sure they should not make you do this, hopefully someone will post up and help here, but in my opinion I don't think this is right.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
nikester what rate of interst were you paying? This new loan which I assume is without PPI should have the same rate or lower. If not you need to report them to the FSA and FOS.DS1 12/10/04

- What were you reclaiming: Loan
- Who was the provider: Barclay's
- How much did you get back: PPI premium plus interest on that refunded into the loan and also 2 cheques one for the part monthly payments that were made and another check for 8% interest on those payements.
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: It took a year and 2 template letters then Went to FOS but once FOS allocated an adjudicator the whole thing was sorted within about 8 weeks.
- And then write your brief reclaim tale

Thank you so much Martin and all moneysavers who have left their success stories here! Because of your encouragement I have successfully reclaimed over £1200 from Lloyds TSB for PPI on a graduate loan of £6k, which I took out when I was on an incredibly low salary in 2002. Having written to them in December last year, I received a 'holding' letter saying they were looking into my claim, and then this week I finally had word that they were reimbursing me for the payment protection cover I had paid to date, plus interest.
Fortunately for me I had also been able to pay off my loan last June, so the money will come directly to my current account and not go toward paying off the loan. The letter stated that although they could not agree I had been missold the policy, they could not find the documentation relating to the loan (as it was so old) and therefore were paying me a once-off goodwill sum.
I assume that because I bank with them and have had debts with them in the past they thoroughly intend to get their money back from me, but MSE has kept me on the straight and narrow, and I intend to save, save, save!!
Thanks again people, yet another triumph!0 -
Am at the end of my tether now.
I took out a loan with Lloyds TSB back in September 2005 for £8000 with PPI, the monthly payments were £196.22 and after 23 months I cancelled the PPI and LLoyds made me redo the Loan with a settlement figure of £7620.06 meaning I had paid off £4513.06 but only £379.93 had come off the loan amount. I started my PPI reclaim a year ago and had to wait for constant LLoyds stalling, They ignored the FOS deadlines and when the Ombudsmen sent in the judgement in my favour they appealled against it, The Ombudsmen rather unexpectedly upheld the judgement quite quickly and Lloyds have come back with a settlement figure of £500, The ombudsmen asked if I would accept this and naturally I said no, I found it offensive. The Ombudsman wants me to send him a figure I would accept. I am very tempted to say £10,000,000 just for ticking me off....

Hi Aggy
Golly is that all ?  .
I am so sorry to hear this and I don't blame you for saying no.
Have you anything in paperwork to show the amounts of PPI?
If you have not done so already I would send the FOS the above what you have posted to us here and ask for interest and any charges accurred on top, also ask for at least £250 compensation for the distress this have caused.
Hopefully someone else will come along to post as well to give their opinion but that offered amount was rubbish to be honest, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
