Well done niggly, brilliant result, you never know they might give you a job, then again maybe not they'd lose too much money by paying out correct calculations.

Well done hope you get your money back soon.:D

Hi folks...advice needed...got my SAR returned today from Clydesdale Bank stating that due to data protection my details have been destroyed:mad::mad:..it was only 1999..what can i do now?? :( xx
Have they given you any details of the destruction, I know the SAR letter from on here says something along the lines of asking for certificate of destruction or something signed and certified from the data security officer.

What did you need from the SAR(my memory isn't quite the same as it used to be!):(
Thanks to all the competition posters.

As i banked with them from 1996, took a loan 1999 & refinanced 3 times - the last 1 2004 - paid off 2005...they are willing to uphold the loan in 2004 but not the others saying that the loan agreements have been destroyed..i then sent a SAR which they have sent back today..the maddening thing is all loans were same circs & deffo had PPI :mad:xx

The last paragraph said that something along the lines of if you have entered into an IVA etc etc than this payment will be made to that account. Now, unfortunately, I am in an IVA, but not for this loan which was paid off 8 years before I had the IVA, so do you think they mean that if the loan I'm getting paid back PPI for had arrears and was part of an IVA then that refund would be paid to the IVA account, or do you think they check generally to see whether you have an IVA or Bankrupt and pay any award to them.

The more I think about this the more I am worrying slightly, as the amount of the refund is £1,800, which if paid to the IVA would be a drop in the ocean really, and I really want to treat my son to a holiday which we haven't had for 4 years.

Any one across anything like this before, thanks.:o
I think that as this loan is paid off and is not in the IVA,you should get this back to you x.

Have you been into your branch at all, is this possible, even though you don't have the paperwork and by all means there's no need for them to have it either, but they should be able to tell you if there was ppi on it, even calling your branch, most of these staff in the branch are okay with answering queries like this.
RBS with my SAr couldn't send me any agreements( I didn't need them anyway) but they send me a computer generated list of the loans I had and when they were taken out, how much for and how much the ppi was, I only needed details of one of them, so was okay, perhaps try that, this is a nightmare trying to think of new ways to help you.
Where in the world are you anyway?
