Hi,

Would like to post a success with Barclays First Plus:

    Timeline:

    Requsted SAR May 2011.

BFP acknowledged reciept of claim form around 8th June.

Offer letter arrived yesterday after several postponing letters and being verbally informed the claim would take until middle of October to resolve.

    Loan details:

    Amount borrowed: £15,000
    Term: 20 years (240 months)
PPI Premium (Lump Sum Added to loan and covered first five years of loan): £2989.50

    Refund Details:

    A Original PPI Policy: £2,989.50
B Interest incurred due to PPI: £885.28
C 8% per annum simple interest: £1,054.28 (Net amount aftet BFP have taken tax out - Gross amount not given)
D Less early Settlement refund: £66.27
    E Total Value of refund (= A + B - D): £3,808.51

    Total Amount to be paid (C + E): £4862.79

They have stated it will take 6 - 8 weeks to process the payment.

Why we are upholding your complaint:

Having reviewed your complaint, we have been unable to establish whether the PPI policy was suitable for your needs.
Based on these findings we have upheld your complaint.

(I had 12 months paid sick leave, 4 * death in service cover and would have received a good redundancy payment from my employer)

Would someone be so kind as to check the offer of £4862.79 is suitable?

    First payment made October 2004.

I have just got a new message from Barclaycard . When i rang this morning the recorded announcement now attempts to fob you off by telling you they cannot give out dates of payment over the phone....:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Now they have my acceptance and I cannot speak to them about it-how infuriating:mad::mad::mad::mad: Extremely Poor customer services--argh !! I give up when is the banking industry going to learn that if you wind your customers up they walk.....!!!!!

    Breathe... Breathe...

Ignored the message though and I am still on hold they won't get rid of me that easily......:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I also spoke to the Halifax AGAIN-no news.......still waiting.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I explained to the Halifax that if they do not give any time-scales then more telephone enquiries are likely to occur but still no figures or payment they one big chocolate teapot.....:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

A BIG Good luck on both ;)

Have you also tried emailing the CEO?

I spoke to the FOS regarding my dispute with Central Trust they are now quoting 9-12 months to get to adjudicator stage and another six months after that. I think I need to forget hearing anything for that one until Xmas 2012!

    Hiya hon

Hopefully you will still hear something before that, fingers crossed x;)

Just rang Barclays again as no post this morning. Not even enough info about me on their system today to go through security questions. Eventally got to speak to a Supervisor but little help and said they were aware of the lost cheque and would re-issue in due course if necessary but very busy etc etc. So many delaying tactics.

Should I contact FOS as they were dealing with the complaint originally before Barclays said they would pay out.

    Hi

So sorry to hear of all this inconvenience, and yes do contact the FOS on this, to keep them in the picture, especially if they were previously dealing with the case for you.

    Good luck x:)

How much did you get back - £5641 from an MBNA Credit Card

I didn't use the MSE template letters, just the FSOs template questionaire, and no claim handling firm

This success has lead to a number of other claims being submitted, to 2 x Lloyds TSB (one has already been admitted and awaiting settlement), 2nd MBNA credit card and one Toyota Finical Services.

I had problems with Lloyd TBS losing letters in the post, (or just forgetting to answer)

    Well done on your success!

Are you still having problems with Lloyds?
If so have you tried emailing them as well as the CEO?

Have chased Halifax again to ask how long "due course" is expected to be after their last letter to me saying they had received my signed acceptance and would be in touch and have received a letter today as below:

"Thank you for your letter, blah blah.....
Unfortunately I am unable to provide you with any specific timescales, however we are dealing with this as quickly as possible and will be in contact in due course."

Do a me and keep nagging at them lol :D;) Good luck and well done on your success!

Hi, wonder if someone might be able to assist. I had my offer letter a couple of weeks back, still awaiting payment, but have a question in the hope that someone out there may know. The last paragraph said that something along the lines of if you have entered into an IVA etc etc than this payment will be made to that account. Now, unfortunately, I am in an IVA, but not for this loan which was paid off 8 years before I had the IVA, so do you think they mean that if the loan I'm getting paid back PPI for had arrears and was part of an IVA then that refund would be paid to the IVA account, or do you think they check generally to see whether you have an IVA or Bankrupt and pay any award to them.

The more I think about this the more I am worrying slightly, as the amount of the refund is £1,800, which if paid to the IVA would be a drop in the ocean really, and I really want to treat my son to a holiday which we haven't had for 4 years.

Any one across anything like this before, thanks.:o

    Hiya Honey

I am really not sure on this part of it, I always assumed the accounts individually but I may be wrong in this actual case.

Have you also tried asking this on the other thread of IVA where others may have made a reclaim, you may find the correct answer or receive the correct advice on there, just in case to be sure.;) xxx

    Good Afternoon everyone.

    Postman been and gone,again.
Nothing from our friendly crooks at LTSB for me,AGAIN. Just tried calling them and was cut off at min 38 of being put on hold before I get the honour of speaking with them, what an absolute joke!!
Posted my signed acceptance form off (recorded) on the 25/8 and nothing since. Going to try the fax approach tomorrow since ive already sent 2 emails and so far been ignored.

Anyone had any luck from this bailled out pony!?!?

Just fired off another email to the CEO.
Think its time for me to become a pain lol

    Hiya

I would email the CEO again and Copy it to the customer care team, so they receive this both ways, and the customer team will then be aware you have also emailed the CEO.
Even if you have to do this again later, keep at them. Good luck.

I recieved a few "holding" letters after submitting my complaint, after 14 weeks i rang them and after 45 mins on hold, i was informed they had sent a letter some 14 days early (apparently!), a duplicate arrived about 3 days later, with a page to sign stating i would accept the settlement, but it also contained details from someone elses claim/settlement ! (which have been destroyed!)

the call centre informed me (after another 45 min wait!) the settlement would take another 4 to 6 weeks to calculate, only then would they inform me how much that would be.......and payment would follow after that.....hopefully i should get the money by Christmas .......

Off to chase Toyota finance now.......

The very best of luck to you x:);)
