When I first saw the PPI claims I thought I can't be entitled to that.. But after reading some posts and seeing what the main process was I quickly realised I was. When I had taken out the loan it offered a gold cover of which I had stated I didn't want. Being 18 at the time when the courier arrived with the cheque and contract it had the cover and I needed the money so I signed. Now thanks to the easy process after 16 weeks of waiting I am now about the receive a cheque Thanks MSE.com and Martin Lewis.

Hi mullerd12,
Would you mind telling me when you took the loan out? I am in the process of claiming from Sainsbury's (Bank Of Scotland) on exactly the same amount with Silver care taken out in 2004. Put claim in at the end of August, had letter back from BOS saying 16 weeks, regards dilus

Taken only 10 weeks but got paid yesterday. Delighted.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and support. I would never have tried claiming without your encoragement.

Well I've just had my 3rd and final PPI success

Complaint with WFS pre 2005 £3404.70
Complaint with WFS with FSCS £2800.00
Complaint with Natwest £3644.00

Hi folks...advice needed...got my SAR returned today from Clydesdale Bank stating that due to data protection my details have been destroyed:mad::mad:..it was only 1999..what can i do now?? xx

£1619.25!!!! From Halifax and to think I wasn't even going to bother.... Here is my story...

I had some very old loans going back to 2001 and the most recent being in 2005. All paid off historically. I thought there was no point in attempting to claim with them being over 6 years ago because they would just tell me everything had been archived etc, but I ended up getting a call from one of those claim it for you and take a cut companies. They wreckoned that they could go back 10 years no problem so I let them send me the pack out.... They wanted 35%!!!! Robbing gits so when I got the pack I adapted their templates and claimed myself through the help of this site!!! (Thanks Martin)

First of all I rang Halifax and asked for all my old loan policy account numbers which I got, I then wrote to them to ask for a copy of the agreement on all the loans. They wrote back out with a copy and sure enough PPI was included when I beleived I had opted out.

I wrote to them in April 2011 asking for a full refund of all PPI. They responded in less than 2 weeks to acknowledge my complaint and a form for me to give more details. Sent this off and heard nothing, so I rang to complain that I'd been waiting for a response for 5 months and was not happy. Within 4 days 6 cheques came to me totalling the above!!!!

Absolutely delighted to say the least and glad didn't go with a claim on your behalf company as they would have robbed £566 from me
