Good morning all,

Just a quick question with regard to the August 31st Deadline.

Were the banks supposed to uphold or reject complaints by the deadline or were they also supposed to provide figures by then if the complaint was upheld ?

Thanks
• Success with MBNA
Letter sent end of august and had a letter to say complaint upheld and I will have a cheque for £2,499 within the next 28 days! What a result.
Thank you Martin:j
• Hi,

Would like to post a success with Barclays First Plus:

Timeline:

Requsted SAR May 2011.

BFP acknowledged reciept of claim form around 8th June.

Offer letter arrived yesterday after several postponing letters and being verbally informed the claim would take until middle of October to resolve.

Loan details:

Amount borrowed: £15,000
Term: 20 years (240 months)
PPI Premium (Lump Sum Added to loan and covered first five years of loan): £2989.50

Refund Details:

A Original PPI Policy: £2,989.50
B Interest incurred due to PPI: £885.28
C 8% per annum simple interest: £1,054.28 (Net amount aftet BFP have taken tax out - Gross amount not given)
D Less early Settlement refund: £66.27
E Total Value of refund (= A + B - D): £3,808.51

Total Amount to be paid (C + E): £4862.79

They have stated it will take 6 - 8 weeks to process the payment.

Why we are upholding your complaint:

Having reviewed your complaint, we have been unable to establish whether the PPI policy was suitable for your needs.
Based on these findings we have upheld your complaint.

(I had 12 months paid sick leave, 4 * death in service cover and would have received a good redundancy payment from my employer)

Would someone be so kind as to check the offer of £4862.79 is suitable?

First payment made October 2004.

• Hi BeverlyKim
We have had exactly the same letter - seem to be sending this out now as standard to self employed
• Hi

Did First Plus give you any reason for the 6-8 week wait? Seems a ridculously long tome considering money had already been put aside
• I have just got a new message from Barclaycard . When i rang this morning the recorded announcement now attempts to fob you off by telling you they cannot give out dates of payment over the phone....:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Now they have my acceptance and I cannot speak to them about it-how infuriating:mad::mad::mad::mad: Extremely Poor customer services--argh !! I give up when is the banking industry going to learn that if you wind your customers up they walk.....!!!!!

Breathe... Breathe...

Ignored the message though and I am still on hold they won't get rid of me that easily......:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I also spoke to the Halifax AGAIN-no news.......still waiting.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I explained to the Halifax that if they do not give any time-scales then more telephone enquiries are likely to occur but still no figures or payment they one big chocolate teapot.....:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Money Saving-Reclaiming-And Won!!!:j:j:j:j:j

£33,000 refunded!!! :j:j:j:j:j
• I spoke to the FOS regarding my dispute with Central Trust they are now quoting 9-12 months to get to adjudicator stage and another six months after that. I think I need to forget hearing anything for that one until Xmas 2012!

Same here with Halifax. Sent back my signed acceptance form and heard nothing since and chasing them up is just a waste of time

Good luck with your other claim though :)
• Just rang Barclays again as no post this morning. Not even enough info about me on their system today to go through security questions. Eventally got to speak to a Supervisor but little help and said they were aware of the lost cheque and would re-issue in due course if necessary but very busy etc etc. So many delaying tactics.

Should I contact FOS as they were dealing with the complaint originally before Barclays said they would pay out.
• How much did you get back - £5641 from an MBNA Credit Card

I didn't use the MSE template letters, just the FSOs template questionaire, and no claim handling firm

This success has lead to a number of other claims being submitted, to 2 x Lloyds TSB (one has already been admitted and awaiting settlement), 2nd MBNA credit card and one Toyota Finical Services.

I had problems with Lloyd TBS losing letters in the post, (or just forgetting to answer)
