    Hi Cloudburst,

Wow, well done on your win with HFC. I do not know if you saw my post earlier, I have also won a claim with HFC via FOS (since Sept 2010). Once HFC get your acceptance form they say they pay out within 3 weeks. I hope that helps put things into perspective. Just wondering when you put in your claim. Brilliant amount that! Enjoy!

    Hi bhoqoN.

Thanks for the speedy reply! I sent the original letter to them mid June, so its actually been a really speedy process! :j:j
  • Hi, another new confused ppi claimant here!

I put in my complaint on 09.05.11 to the Halifax. I got a bunch of letters 3 days before the 16 weeks dealine saying that they would pay back all five of my complaints, two 50% due to them being joint with my ex partner, and the other three they'd pay fully plus 8% interest. There were no calculations whatsover.
I sent the acceptance forms back immediately, with a little faith, as I was signing for money, but have been given no idea of how much.
I've rung them several times since to find out when I'm getting paid, and have been on hold for ten or more minutes each time, only to be told they still haven't made any calculations, and they have no clue as to when I'll get paid. They received my acceptance forms on 30.8.11.

How long do most people have to wait from the Halifax for a payout after the acceptance forms have been received? And how on earth do they seem to be getting away with buying themselves time after the 16 weeks....and keeping me hanging on....my OH lost his job three weeks ago, and by the end of the month we'll need this very much!!!!

As another watcher on the edge I decided to give this PPI reclaim lark a try. Did not use a reclaim Co ,did the paperwork myself. Quite simple really. I would suggest to anyone who is still thinking about it to give it a go.

Todays post bought first reply from MBNA £15,929.71 offer.

    1 down...............

Thanks to all who have posted excellent infomation and Good luck to everyone.

    Cloudburst,

Mine started off as a PC world loan to buy a PC £1300 and ended up with HFC inviting me to their branch offering to clear the £1300 for the PC and all my credit cards. I cannot remember what it was in the end, I think £5000 but I ended up with 2 loans running concurrently and paid over £16000 in total. I have no idea what they owe me but FOS have said they will forward acceptance on the 29th and then I can start counting my 3 weeks from then. If you do not mind me asking, how much was your loan?:j

WELL DONE,just wondered if you had to provide all statements back to 1999 as my offer from lloyds only went back to 2004 as they said they dont have records after 6 years even though my card is still active. Thx

Thanks suarez.....No I didn't have any statements, they re-construct the account

Good News yayyyy (dances etc, my smilies hve disappeared) re Barclaycard. As i posted previously they couldn't find any record of PPI despite me having statements ranging from 1995 until 2000 all clearly showing it. I emailed the CEO in July, and after a lot of tooing and frooing including me faxing all the statements I have in my possession. I received their offer today, it was alledgedly posted last Wed, but failed to arrive so they faxed me it at my insistance today. Maybe some kind person could look at the figures and see if they think they are fair.
They have estimated my payments until April 2002, which I think is fair enough.

    Refund of PPI Cover £1,467.69
Refund of Interest charged on PPI £1,397.41
8% simple Interest per Annum £2159.84
    Total Refund £5024.94

The statements I faxed them valued about £775, as some where missing so they have averaged it out, my balance ranged from £1,000 to £3,000 and PPI payments were anything from £6 per month to £25.90 per month. Any opinion from any of you maths whizzes would be appreciated.

Thankyou Di, Cappo, Amersall etc etc etc for all your wonderful help and encouragement, without you it would never have happened. Now I will be able to book flights to England next month to visit my son who has gone to Uni, I will also pay off most of the balance of a very high interest cc i currently have and cut it up. And finally I may invest in a new winter coat and nice leather boots!!

Dances again, raises glass etc etc !!

    Di hiya question for you.

following on from my many rants regarding opus their 16 weeks ended today and guess what nothing.

Well ive decided not to call them again as all they do is nothing which winds me up even more.

now what they say is the 16 weeks is from the date THEY acknowledge the complaint not when i sent it. so my 16 weeks has now turned to oct (end).

what do you suggest i do wait till october or resend it to back to the fos
