PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Cloudburst,
Mine started off as a PC world loan to buy a PC £1300 and ended up with HFC inviting me to their branch offering to clear the £1300 for the PC and all my credit cards. I cannot remember what it was in the end, I think £5000 but I ended up with 2 loans running concurrently and paid over £16000 in total. I have no idea what they owe me but FOS have said they will forward acceptance on the 29th and then I can start counting my 3 weeks from then. If you do not mind me asking, how much was your loan?:j
Well that sounds like the same kind of thing that happened to me. I was basically conned into taking two loans and a credit card. I needed the money as I was getting married so it seemed to make sense at the time. The total amount was approx. a mind blowing £25,000 if I recall correctly!
Also, funnily enough (or not, depending on how you look at it!) the last payment for paying it off comes out at the end of this month! What a lovely 'goodbye' present from HFC!
Is there any chance you can let us know when you receive your payment? Would be very much appreciated.0 -

I put in my complaint on 09.05.11 to the Halifax. I got a bunch of letters 3 days before the 16 weeks dealine saying that they would pay back all five of my complaints, two 50% due to them being joint with my ex partner, and the other three they'd pay fully plus 8% interest. There were no calculations whatsover.
I sent the acceptance forms back immediately, with a little faith, as I was signing for money, but have been given no idea of how much.
I've rung them several times since to find out when I'm getting paid, and have been on hold for ten or more minutes each time, only to be told they still haven't made any calculations, and they have no clue as to when I'll get paid. They received my acceptance forms on 30.8.11.
How long do most people have to wait from the Halifax for a payout after the acceptance forms have been received? And how on earth do they seem to be getting away with buying themselves time after the 16 weeks....and keeping me hanging on....my OH lost his job three weeks ago, and by the end of the month we'll need this very much!!!!
Technically they have up to 8 weeks from the date of acceptance to make payment.
You should receive it by the end of the month in theory as they said I should and I sent mine back later than you.I'm a secret crime fighter0 -
Hi. I've had a refund of ppi from barclaycard ( which was previously a sky card). They seem to have refunded premiums of £977.90 (sky card and barclaycard) but have calculated compound interest of £98.81, is this correct? It seems to me that they have calculated compound interest on just barclaycard premiums and not sky card. Should I go back to them??
Thanks in advance!0 -

Cloudburst,
I will keep you and the forum posted. This is very important to me as I have been to hell and back with HFC bank. I am waiting desperately for the calculations as to be quite honest all I know is how much I paid after 41 months - over £16000. At the time I was desperate for money, in college and with a very young family. HFC preyed on my desperation and I ended up paying 2 direct debits at a total of over 500 per month! I do not know how that happened. When I get the calculations I will have a field day! Top of my priority is telling the team on here that has been fantastic! Just a matter of time with yours and, once again, all the best:T:T:T0 -

My LTSB circumstance seem pretty close to yours, card taken out 2002, balance of anywhere up to 9k at all times. I returned my acceptance last Friday. I ll be interested to hear your offer!
Hi just readin sent your thread,i have just spoken to LLoyds as they sent my calculations in someone else's name and paying into someone else's account, emailed CEO,GOT EMAIL BACK TODAY,stating that they do not plan on any move moneywise regarding my CCard, the offer is still £4800,because they have no records afer 6 years, they reckon they have worked out how i may have used my card, and added it on,also said added one months extra interest, interest was £68 quid,(simple) in total
What i cant get my head round is my balance in 2005 was £2670,
in 2007 it was £8000 and late 2008 in was £12900,and yet total amount was £4800.
Also they are not willing to do anything, regarding me being addressed in 4 different names in the last few letters of correspondance, only to re-educate there staff where necessary and apologising for the hiccups.
Also they said they are going to reconstruct my account, does this mean that the amount they send me,will this be knocked of my credit card bill, because the way the guy at Lloyds was talking he said a chunk comes of your bill, can anyone let me know if this is right,I guess it must be,because if they did'nt you would still have the same bill??? Am i right or wrong or being a bit thick.0 -

Thanks for that, Having read their letter again, it states they have reviewed all available statements from the date the payment break plan premium was initially charged to your account, until the date which the last premium was charged. What I can't understand is they've refunded the premiums from sky card so must have details of all premiums etc. Do you think they should calculate compound interest on all premiums or just barclaycard payment break plan??0
