Just received confirmation from mbna that my complaint had been updheld. I will be receiving a refund of nearly £43,000.00 in the next 28 days.

I nearly didn't make a claim as I was apprehensive about taking on a big bank. Thanks to the advice and templates on Money Saving Expert I will shortly have my money back, which will be like a new start for me and my family

Many Thanks MoneySavingExpert and Martin Lewis. Keep up the good work. Now waiting to see if I get the same response from Barclaycard and mint. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That's fantastic! Well Done & Big conrats! Enjoy!

    Hi
I have just received a letter back from MBNA stating the following:
Total amount of PPI premiums charged since sale date: £5554.97
Total amount of interest assiciated with PPI premiums: £9567.19
Total amount of 8% interest; £845.70
    Total amount payable: £15,967.56

An Amount of £7583.78 will be applied to the outstanding balance on the account and will show on the next statement as a credit or
A cheque will also be sent within 28 days,

Does this mean they are only offereing me half of what I should be getting, or are they paying half on the balance and sending me the other half on a cheque.

The letter states it is their final response and will not enter into any other correspondence on this matter. Should I accept the offer or should I try to get the £15,000 back. Thing is, I am quite desperate for this money and wondering how much longer I would need to wait. Please help! Thanks

Sure the letter came with the calculations and at the bottom of each letter it said

This has now been credited to your account and low and behold when I checked my balance it was there, do you still bank with barclays?

    Hi
Do you have an outstanding balance on your credit card because what they did with me was refund the money to me by reducing the balance it was only a small win because I did not have the ppi for long

    Hi,

I recieved a letter from Barclays upholding my claim and have given a refund figure of £2333. I have no forms to send back to them and the letter says that the money will be paid into my Barclays current account!

Any ideas how long this usually takes?

    Thanks xxx

    Wonderful!:T Congratulations!
I would give them about 21 working days, or give them a call they should be able to let you know, good luck x

This is my 1st time on here..!!! I was contacted last year by a claims firm who said i was entitiled to cash back from ppi's on my Lloyds loan and credit card.... I recieved a letter back on august 12th stating my claims had been succesful and i am to recieve in total approx £6,500..!!!! Since then the claims firm have been harrasing me for payment (25%+vat!!). I keep informing them i have not recieved payment yet and have rang Lloyds up but they just tell me there is a backlog..!!!
Has anyone got any ideas how long Lloyds will take from date of figures to payment??? Thanks....

First of all, well done on your success.

That's the thing with claims companies, on here we suggest its best to have a go yourself, as its understood many have had hassle from using them.

I would tell them you are unable to pay it if you do not have it and its their job to chase this up, this is what they also get paid for, or tell them you will be contacting Claims management.

    Hi

I haven't posted much on this site but would like to thank Martin and everyone else who have shared their success stories because they have motivated me, and given me the confidence to take on hsbc!! Today, after 1 letter and questionnaire, followed by a 12 week wait, I have received a letter upholding my complaint and offering me just over £1600!!
I would have liked a bit more but I am definitely not complaining. I would like to say to anyone who is thinking of claiming through a third party company, to do it yourself is simple with the help of this site and you get to keep 100% of the money!!

    Thanks again

    Mark
