    Anyone else had this problem.
    1. RBS upheld my claim on Mint PPI missell (they own Mint) ten days ago with a goodwill payment that was calculated in their favour for £4,800 minus tax on interest.
    2. Niggly's calculation was more in the £7000 region.
    3. I sent my acceptance letter off by registered post next day.
    4. They said they would pay me by cheque by post within 28 days of receiving the acceptance.
    5. Today, home from work I receive a letter from them. It is Friday after 5pm
    6. They say I must attend a local Royal Bank of Scotland Branch and prove my identity with a passport or driving licence photocard.
    7. Their office is only open 8 -5pm mon-fri so I can't get through to anyone to find out where their branches are.
    8. I call NATWEST my bank who I have been with for 33 years to find out if they are gregarded as an RBS branch. Answer is no.
    9. I look on website tio fiund nearest RBS branches.
    10. Nearest branch is Eastbourne -20 miles away. Open on Sat a.m.
    11. I have a trillion things to do that a working person doing an 8am - 5pm job does.
    12. Are they making life as difficult as possible for me! Delaying tactics or what?

    ANSWER IS YES THEY ARE.

I have never heard of that one before  contact them explain your problem here, I don't think that is fair, why can't they be normal and post by signed for delivery or something? strange that.

  • Barclays are now messing around. I had two credit cards with them - one was originally a Morgan Stanley card that was taken out in 2000 and was transferred over to be a Barclaycard and I know I had PPI on this (Barclays even sent me a copy of the original document I signed when I opened this and the PPI box was ticked). The other Barclaycard that I had only ever had a small limit and there was only one time that I ever paid PPI on this and it was a mistake by them! They were supposed to get back to me by 6th September but I never got the letter they said they sent out on 30/8/11. I rang to state this last week and they say they re-sent it again last week but still no letter. After waiting on the phone for ages they agree to e-mail me the letter. They have upheld it but I now think this is the wrong card as they offer is only for about £55. Now I know for a fact that at times I owed about £8000 on this old Morgan Stanley card and the PPI on this would have been massive. So what are they playing at I am hoping that this is the wrong card - I can now see another long wait on the telephone to discuss this - which means I am going to have to leave work early on Monday!!!

Also I have an old loan with Barclays and I got a letter stating that they would get back to me after 16 weeks - I got a letter the other day apologising and stating that they made a mistake and is should be 12 weeks!!!

    The fight goes on!!!

And when I have read this offer for £55 they mention that I have an IVA but I havent - I wonder now if they have mixed me up with someone else! What with Halifax mixing up accounts, Black Horse with my son and now this one with Barclays I do wonder how safe our money is in these banks!!
  • Thanks di3004! I'll keep posting until I find help lol :)

Hi, when i logged my SAR with RBS they asked me to do this too, I just done it and kicked off the complaint.
I was the same as you working from 7am till 4/5pm, had to travel to find one that was open on a Saturday morning.
Still waiting for final decision just a couple of more weeks to go.:D

  • Hi,

I recieved a letter from Barclays upholding my claim and have given a refund figure of £2333. I have no forms to send back to them and the letter says that the money will be paid into my Barclays current account!

Any ideas how long this usually takes?

    Thanks xxx
