Thank you all. I have been reading what has been happening and send a pleasant letter (not a claim) to Lloyds TSB asking if they would check two old loans (2003/2004) which have been paid off for some time. They have checked it out and notified me to expect £7,029.
I also asked them to have a look at the credit card (not used very much though) which they seem to have forgotten, so when I get the cheque I'll write back and ask them about it.
Once again - MANY THANKS. I would not have done this without you.
:T:T:T:T:Twell done.....have they said when you will be paid??0 -
Sands, it doesn't say when I get paid. I got the letter yesterday and they said payment would be by cheque, so I'll just wait and see. Shouldn't think it will be long.0

Hi All
Whats the best way of getting PPI back from a Loan that I think finished in 2005-2007,. I had one 2 with MBNA but cant find any details, How would I get this moved and what details do I need to send them ?
thanks0 -
I got my settlement letter on 9th August from Lloyds TSB. A week later I got a settlement letter from NatWest. A week ago Natwest paid up, but I have still not recieved a cheque from LloydsTSB.
On balance, would I be out of order charging them what they would charge me for being overdrawn, i.e. £15.00 per day, plus £12.50 for the letter telling them this? If we all did this after say 28 days from recieving our settlement letters do you think they might be spurred into action?
Let me know what you think!!;)0 -

Haven't got the stuff with me, but I sent the original letter end of July, upheld letter about two weeks ago (ish) and the amount letter yesterday.
Edit: Did get a couple of holding letters from them for more time.0 -

Would be nice, but no unfortunately.
You are getting the 8% that would be awarded by FOS or the courts already.
Also, they actually have up to 8 weeks to make the payment from the date they received your acceptance, inline with the FSA guidlines, so any such threats may result in them taking as long as they are allowed.I'm a secret crime fighter0 -
1. Barclays haven't upheld as they say that self employed were covered for disability cover - but the policy says you have to have a certificate to say you are not fit for work .... if you are self employed this includes helping, managing or carrying out any part of the day to day business - although he was self employed, he employed staff - the day to day running would have included paying wages, filling in forms such as PAYE etc - he would not have been able not to have nothing at all to do with the business.
(The policy also defines self employed as "actively working alone or with a partner" - he did not work alone - he had emplyees ???
2. They have said sales staff required to discuss - he cant re-call speaking to anyone let alone having ticked the box
Any advice please0
