I wanted to post my ppi success with you , so here goes. I have just claimed back ppi from hbos.I followed all the tips on this site and was suprised at how easy it was. I received 3.250. It did take nearly twelve months to receive the money and quite a few phone calls. If i can do it anyone can.0

oh well here i go again put on hold for about the 5th time this week waiting to see if my offer forms been recieved(barclays)sent it off two weeks ago and still no sign of it:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0

So rang Halifax basically just to check that they are actually doing something with my complaint as I heard of a few people getting to the 16 weeks and then hearing their complaint hadn't been looked at. The miserable so & so on the phone said they were still looking into it and trying to work out the figures involved.
Don't want to read to much into it but fingers crossed that the "figures involved" are the offer. But basically no nothing more than before the call.
Good luck to everyone who is expecting to hear anything today.Arise Sir Martin Lewis :money:, For services to the Great British public. This man deserves a Knighthood :beer:0 -
On Aug 5th I received notification out of the blue from FSCS that Welcome Finance may have mis-sold me some PPI insurance a few years ago. So I completed the paperwork they sent and returned it a week later.
Yesterday I got the PPI repaid in to my bank account. Roughly 5 weeks after the whole process started.
Thanks to everyone that offered their advice and help!0 -

Well done Andy.

My boyfriend has been struggling with a huge loan for 8 years which he originally took out to pay off debts incurred by his ex partner. He has been the victim of numerous bank charges up to £60 a time. He was strongly advised to take out ppi, and given all the "what if" scenarios, they basically scared him into it! So i followed your instructions, waited about 8 weeks and he has now recieved a letter saying they are paying all the ppi back, plus 8% interest PLUS compensation for financial difficulty and charges incurred, in total a massive £6,500. He is absolutely over the moon!!0

Barclays have rejected husbands PPI claim - he was self employed and doesn't remember ticking the box - he's always been anti insurance. Anyway, Barclays have rejected but included a para saying " Should you feel that our records are inaccurate, please provide us with copies of the appropriate evidence ( eg passport, birthcertifcate, bank statements, utility bills etc) and we will be happy to review the case."
Can anyone shed any light on this - why would they consider this to be evidence and be willing to review. To me the info they are requesting is to verify who he is ???
We didn't ask for a signed copy of the agreement at first but will be doing but the above is confusing us.
Also, I have made numerous requests for a copy of the T&Cs relevent to my C.C which haven't arrived ( dated back to 1995 ) - have EMailed CE 3 times + calls and letters - have sent the required £1.00 which they have acknowledged but they still haven't sent them - what do I do now ??
Any advice wld help
Thanks
For the terms and conditions just ring and ask for a copy, explain what you have done to date and tell them if they dont get their finger out you will ring FOS.0 -

Thank you all. I have been reading what has been happening and send a pleasant letter (not a claim) to Lloyds TSB asking if they would check two old loans (2003/2004) which have been paid off for some time. They have checked it out and notified me to expect £7,029.
I also asked them to have a look at the credit card (not used very much though) which they seem to have forgotten, so when I get the cheque I'll write back and ask them about it.
Once again - MANY THANKS. I would not have done this without you.0
