PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi all just thought I'd let you know that my claim was upheld in August and they offered me £302:mad: as a gesture of goodwill etc etc, I queried this amount as it didn't sound right to me (£8,000 loan, £1269 cost of PPI over 2 years) so spoke to my claims advisor there and she got it recalculated and they have now sent me another letter apologising for the error and offering me £1,887:j, some difference huh!! So if you think your owed more I would check because all I did was query it once by phone and hey presto they are apologising for an error and offering me £,1585 more:cool:. Bit weird if you ask me and not that I'm being suspicious or anything, but did they hope I would just accept the first offer and go away. So my advice just check when you get your offer letters. PS anyone had any recent dealings with them re how long it took to get your cheques, sent my acceptance letter back on 12/9?:j0

Hi there I spoke to rbs today to see how things were progressing and the advisor told me my acceptance was put onto their system on 8th Sept which was posted on 1st sept and they should payout within the 28 working day timescale and there were no delays in payouts. I will post again when the money is in my account.

I can confirm that we received the signed and dated acceptance slip on the 4th September 2011. Please note that all refund payments are processed and received within twenty-eight working days from the date that we received the signed and dated acceptance slip.
Hi not sure am waiting for our payment. We had a letter with figures on 30th August, accepted it following day. Our letter shows 8% interest paid up until 20th September so we are hoping it is any day. Will post on here when we get ours so you know. Congratulations on your claim0 -

Hi guys,
Some massive wins this week which brings hop to us "hangers on" if thats the correct term.
I am about half way through my "upto" 16 week wait with the Halifax. Would anyone recommend giving them a call just to "see how its going" aka make sure they are processing it. Maybe I am just being in patient but its a bit like being a kid waiting for Christmas morning. Lets just hope that my stocking isn't empty come the big day! :santa2:Arise Sir Martin Lewis :money:, For services to the Great British public. This man deserves a Knighthood :beer:0 -

That's as maybe, but it still seems so unfair that they drag their heels when the boot's on the other foot. After all, it's down to their shoddy business practices that they are in this predicament.;)
Here,here- i say!!!!! you are exactly right, banks are down right liars!
i also asked them last week ,why have i got to wait another four weeks after calculations for my money, when all they have to is to press and few buttons on the computer,i have already requested to pay it into my current bank account with them (LLoyds that is ) there answer was "its not that simple "but surely it does'nt take 4 weeks to pay an amount in over the computer,
also i have just had to wait over 4 weeks for a cheque to come from Lloyds for my early redemption on my mortgage which they swindled me out of,six years and they never let me know,i have just received the cheque back (a lloyds tsb cheque) and guess what i have had to wait three working days for it to clear!!
They have promised also a £20 complaints cheque but have not received that yet, guess that will be another four weeks.
Sorry for ranting.

Quick question/query - maybe a stupid one maybe not but hey, I'm having one of those days and it's not even lunchtime...
I mentioned a few days ago that my ppi had been upheld from Lloyds tsb offering full refund plus 8% etc... :T now does that mean a full refund eg. the total cost of the PPI sold to me on the day I took the loan out? Because i've been sitting here doing a vague work out on the amount I'd paid out monthly over the last few years and I'm now a little confused...
If the loan is still running, you get the total ppi off the loan balance and your payment reduces by the ppi monthly amount and you get the ppi you paid back to you with the 8%.
If you settled this early, they will have given you a rebate of the ppi,so you will get the total ppi back with 8% less the rebate they gave you.
If the loan ran to term and is paid off,you get the whole ppi back with the 8%.0
