PPI reclaim letter sent 10 weeks ago, got a letter at beginning of August saying matter was being looked into, had intended following it up next week and lo and behold a cheque for over £8000 landed on the mat today. Many thanks Martin. Hubby now wants me to look at his cc's and loans!!

Well done and Congratulations Tony !

If your account is with collections, I assumed they would have dealt with it there and then, so I am not certain on that one to be honest.
Good luck though, and again well done!:T:T

    Thanks Di,

Well i think they have 40 days (8 working week) to pay out once they have upheld the claim??? I did email the CEO asking when i would be paid out & got an email back saying that it was there final response & i can contact the FOS if i need to. The main thing is that in the letter it clearly says that the PPI was not right for my circumstances therefore my complaint was upheld so i hope that means they can not go back on there word??? But can you ever trust the banks!!!!!!
  • Hi, Just thought I would report that I have quite amazingly and unbelievably claimed back the PPI from my loan from Northern Rock with a total sum of just over £10,000 being credited. All thanks to Martin and the letter templates he produced. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Am so sorry to hear this, which bank if you dont mind me asking?
i would be looking for some kind of distress payment if thats the case, and don't let them offer you £20 quid,i would be looking for at least £1000.
Afew years ago a certain bank sent all my huubys cheque books and statements to our old address, knowing full well we had moved, and a not nice family moved into our old property,so consequently got to know some of our business, the bank sent us £750 redress,so i would hold out if i was you.
Good luck and am so sorry.

I got paid out on my House Of fraser store card which is Santander, but unbelievably they turned me down for my Wallis Card which is also Santander, both forms completed at the same time and were identical!
I have also sent my Wallis card to FOS after FLA turned me down as well.
My thoughts is that if i have been paid out once then I'm sticking to my guns and will do everything possible to get my money back

    I have claimed

Lomard Tricity First National-turned down and with FOS as its from 1992

  • Hi everyone - I'm new to posting msgs but have been a long time lurker. Thanks for all the info and the directions given on the site. We - hubby & I have put in numerous claims re PPI and are in the waiting game but had a couple of reponses and need some advice please.
Barclays have rejected husbands PPI claim - he was self employed and doesn't remember ticking the box - he's always been anti insurance. Anyway, Barclays have rejected but included a para saying " Should you feel that our records are inaccurate, please provide us with copies of the appropriate evidence ( eg passport, birthcertifcate, bank statements, utility bills etc) and we will be happy to review the case."
Can anyone shed any light on this - why would they consider this to be evidence and be willing to review. To me the info they are requesting is to verify who he is ???
We didn't ask for a signed copy of the agreement at first but will be doing but the above is confusing us.
Also, I have made numerous requests for a copy of the T&Cs relevent to my C.C which haven't arrived ( dated back to 1995 ) - have EMailed CE 3 times + calls and letters - have sent the required £1.00 which they have acknowledged but they still haven't sent them - what do I do now ??

    Any advice wld help
    Thanks
