I complained to Mint regarding the ppi mis sell on my mastercard on the 17th June 2011, i received a reply from them on 28th June indicating they were investigating my claim. I realize they have 16 weeks to respond with a decision, but this morning i received a letter from them saying that my current card expires soon and that if i dont contact them to request a new one they will close the account.
A. Is this normal practise?
B. Will this effect my claim?
Thanks.
Also like to thank everyone on here as i received just under £5,000.00. from my MBNA claim last week:)
Hi
First of all well done on your success!
I am not sure if that is normal practice, I have not heard of that myself before, so basically they want you to basically continue to take a credit card with them then?
I would contact them and ask them why.
Also wait for some opinions on this as well, as it may have been the same for someone else. Good luck on your reclaiming.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi,i am new to this forum and wondered if anyone could advise.Just had an offer from lloyds of £5033 for my credit card ppi and they said that the could only repay the ppi from 2004 to 2006 even though i had been paying the ppi since 1999.The ppi was cancelled in 2006 but as the card is still active i thought the would honour all payments from the start of the credit card until the ppi was cancelled.Any advice folks, well done everyone so far and keep up the good work.0

Well, I have been a long time lurker, but I thought that I should share my success with you, as this forum gave me in the inspiration to claim.
Nearly 25 years ago, whilst I was a student, I took out a Barclaycard and was automatically given PPI - there was no option to not have it at the time...
In May of this year I telephoned Barclaycard to instigate a PPI miss-selling complaint.
I have won my complaint, and as they don't have the records for more than 6 years they have calculated my amount based on the last 6 years.
Refund of PPI payments: £6,125.12
Refund of interest charged on PPI premiums: £44,820.36
8% simple interest per annum: £12,036.69
Total Refund Payable: £62,982.17
I posted the acceptance letter immediately and they received it on 8th September - I just have to wait for the money now :-)
I have also won agains Halifax One, but don't know the amount that they will repay me yet.
Excellent :T Congratulations!
Hope you get your money soon x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi and welcome
Well done on your win!
Have you any paperwork prior to 2006?
If so you could maybe ask them to consider going back even earlier, tell them you are still considering the offer but are asking if you can get hold of the paperwork prior to 2006 if they will go back even earlier on this case.
You could if you've not done so yet request a Subject Access Request for your paperwork, but this can take up to 40 calendar days.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi
fingers crossed you will hear something soon.
I take it you have also tried chasing them up?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
:TNot a problem! Yes the first thing I will be doing is clearing the balance off the card, although that isn't a great amount.
When I spoke to BC yesterday to confirm that they had received my acceptance form they did mention that it is still taking 4 to 6 weeks to process the payments so it may be some time before I actually see the money though.
I had my letter from BC through yesterday;
£5,129.64 for refund of payments made for PPI cover
£35,357.24 refund of interest payments on premiums
£8,803.22 8% simple interest per annum (I understand I need to pay tax on this sum)
£49,290.10 refund waiting to be paid into my account! No claim company; just me!!!!!!:T0
