I am not sure if that is normal practice, I have not heard of that myself before, so basically they want you to basically continue to take a credit card with them then?

I would contact them and ask them why.
Also wait for some opinions on this as well, as it may have been the same for someone else. Good luck on your reclaiming.;)

Hi,i am new to this forum and wondered if anyone could advise.Just had an offer from lloyds of £5033 for my credit card ppi and they said that the could only repay the ppi from 2004 to 2006 even though i had been paying the ppi since 1999.The ppi was cancelled in 2006 but as the card is still active i thought the would honour all payments from the start of the credit card until the ppi was cancelled.Any advice folks,well done everyone so far and keep up the good work.

Refund of interest charged on PPI premiums: £44,820.36
8% simple interest per annum: £12,036.69
Total Refund Payable: £62,982.17

I posted the acceptance letter immediately and they received it on 8th September - I just have to wait for the money now :-)

I have also won agains Halifax One, but don't know the amount that they will repay me yet.

Have you any paperwork prior to 2006?
If so you could maybe ask them to consider going back even earlier, tell them you are still considering the offer but are asking if you can get hold of the paperwork prior to 2006 if they will go back even earlier on this case.
You could if you've not done so yet request a Subject Access Request for your paperwork, but this can take up to 40 calendar days.
