Hi, I have just received AMAZING news! Tesco credit card are offering me £8500 back for mis-selling PPI (THE ORIGINAL APPLICATION FORM STATED 'WE STRONGLY ADVICE YOU TO TAKE OUT THIS INSURANCE' and so made reclaiming pretty straight forward). My dilemma is, do I accept this first offer, or try for more? Without sounding greedy, I remember reading that you shouldn't accept the first offer. Also, this part of the offer letter got me thinking; Tesco say they can only work out my PPI payments from 2003 onwards. I took out the card in 1998, leaving 5 years unaccounted for. Tesco say that if I can provide evidence of PPI from 1998 to 2003 then they will review the offer. I have not got any evidence of this, but surely Tesco should have? Should I push for them to investigate further, as if I am entitled to all of my PPI back then this period should be included? On the other hand, I have received this offer which is twice the amount I was expecting, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Many thanks
  • Hi Guy's well done on all recent wins!! Quick question, does any companies pay out missold ppi without customers making a complaint against them? Thanks in advance x

    Hiya

Yes you can still make a reclaim.

So annoying isn't it on the cancellation terms, which are not always made clear in the beginning, plus you are entitled to cancel at anytime, however what many seem to do now is resolve the case first then it should be automatically cancelled afterwards, but either way it should not matter.

To make a reclaim, complete the reclaim questionnaire below, send, and keep a copy for yourself as well, they will let you know if they need more time than the usual 8 weeks, as the FSA have currently given the main of the banks/business extra time of 12 weeks to deal with the backlog.
Step 3 to the reclaim questionnaire.

    Good luck.:)

Thanks Di - you are there every step of the way for all of us with just the right advice, support, encouragement and direction. Much appreciated ! :)

Hiya, this is very timely for me as I am just about to start a claim with Tesco credit card. Could you give me the contact details of whom you made your claim to - did you do by phone or write or both ? How did you know the application form said that = did you keep a copy or did you do a SAR. Sorry for all questions - just forewarned it forearmed !:)

  •:beer:Hi all just received a letter from RBS regarding an old Lombard Direct Loan. The letter states that it is a good will offer of £2069.57, i am very pleased with offer as i really did not think i would'nt get anything back to be honest. I have signed the acceptance offer and sent it off with a letter to ask if they can put it directly into my account rather than a cheque, as i have my account with Natwest. Does anyone know how long it normally takes for the refund to reach the account. So so happy as husband lost his job last month. Thanks to Martin Di and Amersall xxxxx:A:A:A

    Hi All, Please please,

Could anyone provide me with the CEO E-MAIL address for santander please ??? I am having a right time with them !! They are just fobing me off 1st put a complaint in about ppi on the 6th June 2011, got letter back on the 8th July saying that they were investigating, got another letter 12th July saying it's taking longer than they thought, got another letter on the 2nd Aug saying still taking longer than they thought so I rang them, on the 19th Aug to see what was going on ???

Anyway they have told me that because my complaint is re a old A&L Credit card (which I sent off an old statement with) they have to wait for MBNA to investigate and to ring back in a couple of week so I rang back on the 24th Aug to be told they are no further on and have heard nothing from MBNA!! So I asked the question should I ring them ??? No you prob wouldn't get anywhere I was told!!!! so I left it, but found on here a e-mail address for the bank of America e-mail the address (which is the MBNA) After a couple of e-mails spoke to a lovely man who had no record of my compliant :( Anyway he told me he would take my compliant over the phone but he could only investigate the yrs the card was under MBNA (Fair enough) So today I have rang Santander back and the have told me they have sent me a letter today to tell me that they have got to wait for MBNA to finish their investigation and they have passed my complaint onto them !!!! WHAT THE HELL ????? They should have done that weeks ago and according to the letters they have been sending me they have been investigating ? so what have they been doing for to months !!!!***????? ///

so I really want to give someone a piece of my mind I am so mad !!!

    Please can someone help ?????

    Thank you in advance

Surely the originial application form you refer to (highlighted above)is all the evidence they require, Have you got it?
The missing first five years are carring interest at 8% simple for 13years ago and its going to increase your payment consideraberably.
Depending on the card balance at the time it is quite possible they are withholding another £8500 of YOUR MONEY
