  • I had been informed by my bank (RBS) that if PPI was selected on my application form it wouldn't be scrutinized so much. I used the template to contact the RBS, within 6 weeks I had received the first offer of £600. Just the other day I have received another offer from the RBS of £1300 after the government had instructed the banks to contact all customers with regards to PPI mis selling.

    Many thanks money saving expert.

Just a quick question for those of you who have had your PPI refunds sent directly to your bank account.
How many days were there between you recieving the upheld letter and the settlement figure reaching your bank account? I'd just like a rough idea, seeing as Lloyds TSB haven't replied to the simple question that I sent them 6 days ago!

  • Hi
It was about 2 weeks after we first contacted them that we received the paperwork. Tnat was at the end of July this year. Hope you hear soon.

Thanks for that hopefully i will hear something this week:)
  • Fingers crossed
Good luck to you and NuttyNat. I really do hope you both get your money back.

They tell me they received our acceptance letter on the 17th August but we still have not received the cheque. Originally we were told that it should all be sorted by the 31st August and we would have our money by then but then it suddenly changed to between 6-8 weeks for the payment to arrive!!! My OH has just gone on short-time working and we could really do with the money right now too!!

Anyway good luck to you both and to anyone else who is claiming against First Plus

  • Hi there,

I'm a newbie here and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. I'm a bit confused by the whole process.

A little background info: In 2004 I graduated from uni. At the time I graduated I had an overdraft of approx £3000. One day the bank manager called me in and said that they were closing my overdraft and I had to take out a personal loan. Having no choice I obviously took the loan. The payments were far too high (I was unemployed) and consequently I defaulted.

In January 2005 another loan was arranged (for the same overdraft amount so £3000) but this time over a longer period of time and a reduced interest rate.

Since January 2005 I have been paying £47.08 back per month. The interest rate is 5.40% per annum over a period of 129 months.

At the moment I don't know whether there is PPI on the loan, the latest statement only says payment and interest amount. By my calculations ignoring interest if I'm paying back £3000 back over 129 months the loan repayment should be approx £24 per month plus interest.

Once the loan has been paid back I'll have paid back over £6000 which is obviously twice what I borrowed. I am assuming there must be PPI cover on the loan simply because I can't work out how the payment of £47.08 is made up.

I was wondering what others think? I'm going to send a letter and £1 requesting a copy of the policy etc. So far I've been paying for 82 months.

So, do you think the amount probably includes PPI and also do you think I have a claim?

    Thanks in advance.

P.S I followed the advice on this site for a statute barred bill I was being chased for by Akitv Kapital and they backed off after 1 letter so thanks for the advice there, too!

Hi - yes I am sure they will be. I dont really know what was on ours cos to be honest we did it through a claims company well before I found this site. I was on leave from work (it was the first week in March) and I was sorting through all the junk mail in my handbag (!!) and was also sick of them ringing me all the time so I just filled the form in and sent it off. I didnt know the account numbers or anything or anything about this site - I was very green and wouldnt even had known how to find out the account numbers back in the day!!! I obviously know a lot better now. Luckily the claims company had an offer on and we are paying them a lot less than some are charging, they were quite on the ball to be honest too at the beginning. This is how we come to have been able to claim it back before that dead line date that Barclay's set, etc.

Anyway enough about my claim and I hope everything goes ok with yours and Red Pepper's. Keep us informed.

    Hello there and welcome.;)

In regards of the figures, I'm sure someone will be along soon.

If the account is still active you can request for a copy of the loan agreement from Lloyds TSB.

Just write a simple letter, enclose £1 cheque or postal order and request they send you a copy of the loan agreement by 12 days.
Remember to enclose the loan account number.
The agreement should show all details of the loan and if any ppi.

Hope this helps and as soon as you know please ask for help if required on the reclaiming.

However, you could call into the local branch who will check these details for you, or email the customer services below, but you will have to give them the bank account details in order for them to check this out for you.

    Hiya
With mine, all I can recall is after we received the uphold letters, the acceptances were in there, and we had to write the details of our bank as well.
When they received these back, it was approx 21 days afterwards they refunded into our bank.

    Good luck

This is my first post on here.....and it is because I'm getting frustrated by HSBC.

My OH and myself took out a loan in 2004 over 8 years and we now have 9 payments left of the loan and PPI was missold to us. After a huge amount of letters and complaints and finally getting a third party company involved (not ideal but we were becoming frustrated) by the lack of contact from HSBC. The FOS sent our third party a letter on the 05 August 2011 confirming that HSBC had finally acknowledged our complaint and would be making a good will gesture on the understanding that the PPI would be cancelled (with pleasure!!) - we had until the 19 August 2011 to action if not happy that this the case, we did nothing because were over the moon. OH contacted FOS end of August 2011 and was told that HSBC would be in touch with figures....no contact yet. Have tried to speak to HSBC which is absolutely ridiculous because left-hand/right-hand do not know what is happening and apparently department I need to speak to does not take calls (handy!). We are getting quite desperate to get this sorted because we are still having to pay £380.00 a month for loan and PPI and I finish work in 5 weeks to go on maternity leave and would really like this to be sorted. Can anyone else advise how long it took from FOS letter to when payment was actually made?

    Hi there

Sorry to hear of the messing around here, but have you tried emailing the CEO of HSBC?
