Hi,
Just a quick question regarding the tax payable on interest element of ppi reclaim, just wondering whether those of us who are self employed include it in january 2012 self assessment which is for the tax year ending april 2011 or am I right in thinking it should be included in January 2013 tax assessment which covers april 2011-april 2012.
Thanks for any help and congrats to anyone who has had recent successes.:j
Hi there.
I am not too sure on this in regards of self employment, but someone will know and will surely post up soon, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I was doubting whether even had PPI on account lol
figures are ....
PPI monthly Premiums £524.09 ( they say this is from Jan 2003-Feb 2004...I had initially thought was cancelled 2005 after going through bank statements, although not at all sure will query this when i call Monday as they not open)
Interest on premiums to date £1230.86
total refund £1754.95
wonder if someone could check the figures when they get a min many thanks in advance xx
they have also stated on the letter which has kinda confused me " I have requested immediate cancellation of the PPI policy on your behalf(I thought by their refund was cancelled feb 2004???) and your future payments will not include any PPI" does this mean there will also be a restructuring of the loan which is still currently active?
They have annoyingly  put the wrong forename on the top of the acceptance form they have "Pamela" my name does being with P however not Pamela lol i am assuming this wont cause any major issues, address, surname, account number etc are all correct.
Hi there
And well done!
I think as long as all the other details are correct, loan account number, address and so on, although there is no harm in letting them know about this.
I'm sure one of them will be along soon to check out the calcs for you, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
crazykipper73 wrote: »Hi i have just recieved conformation of a succesful claim for mis sold PPI from HSBC which i had lodged with the Claim Guys almost 12 months ago.() I had contacted them as it happens and not the other way round. I had forgotten about it to be honest. The payment is to be over and above the original PPI i made this is due to taxable interest apparently? and The claims Guys have indicated there fee of 30% which i was aware of:o I think a mixture of not knowing about Martins money site and apathy probably made me use a third party. My problem with the letter of confirmation i recieved is that i thought it was no win no fee, however i am being asked to complete two points to recieve payment.
Point 1
complete a form with the bank details i would like the payment from HSBC paying into. ( fair enough)
Point 2
Make a payment to the claim guys for work carried out on my behalf either by phone BACS or credit card.
This appears to me as if a fee will be taken before i actually get my hands on the readies as it were. Seems a bit dubious to me. Has anyone else gone through this process?
Hi there
I am unsure on how this works by using claims companies, well done an any success.;)
You could also expand further on this by posting on a separate thread, still within these ppi reclaimng threads, where you should receive some advice on this, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi folks,
Has anyone had any luck claiming PPI misselling on a Tesco Credit Card please ?
Hi there
And yes I have come across much success against these by reading many posts on here.
Have you started a reclaim?

Hello
Received an upheld today on my old Barclaycard Masterloan for £2700 - delighted. Submitted the complaint in mid-May, various update letters in the meantime, and then the upheld letter. Just within the timeframe. It says it may take up to 40 days to send the funds.
Good luck to everyone!
Well done, that is fab!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi there,
I am trying to reclain PPI which was paid on a loan I got from the Ulster Bank (part of RBS). I paid a total of £4,000 in PPI - I started the process of reclaiming in Jan / Feb of this year. I got my 'holding' letter in March / April.....and have yet to hear anything from them. I have not got an offer letter like many people have before 31st Aug. Just wondering if there are many people in my position, and I'd appreciate any advice on what I should do next. I am absolutely seething with my bank.......I joined the Ulster Bank when I was 5 years old!
Many thanks,
LeleB
Hiya
I would defo chase them up on this, if you put this in at the beginning of the year, they have had 8 months to deal with this complaint.
So have you heard anything at all since then?
I would otherwise email the chief executive officer (CEO.
Keep at them, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi
I found this Forum a few days after I had sent a letter to NatWest (19th May 2011) to complain about the mis-selling of my PPI.
I must admit my heart sank when I saw all the shinny templates and questionnaires on this site - I had just sent a note in my own words, detailing my concerns over the way the policy was added to my loan without a mention. The timescale had just been extended to sixteen weeks, which was a bit of a set-back, but I decided to just sit it out.
It was a bit of a roller-coaster ride reading the accounts of members on this thread; from the ‘just received £12,000 for the price of a stamp’ types, to people who had submitted claims over two years ago and still not resolved!
Well, my sixteen weeks ended yesterday with no contact from RBS. I thought I would give them until next Wednesday, then bite the bullet and give them a call. But, I arrived home a hour or so ago to find a UKMail A5 envelop with a RBS, Manchester address on the back - the dreaded post had arrived!
It was rather a thick packet - I immediately thought it contained a load of literature about contacting the FOS and that my claim had been rejected! BUT, it was an offer for £8,046 (oh, plus 15p!).:j
To say I was surprised would be putting it mildly - I had worked it out - if I had been luck enough to have had my complaint upheld - to around £6,250; perhaps that explains why I only obtained a C grade at Math ‘O’ Level.
Just like to say thanks to everyone who has contributed to this Forum over the last four months, especially DizzyDi, Niggly and Amerstall et al.
I can feel a few days in Paris (First Class Eurostar, obviously) and the purchase of an iPad! in the near future!!!!!
Off now to have a beer.
Thanks, and Good Luck to everyone with their claims.
That is fantastic!, Congratulations!
And your very welcome x:AThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Good news - the other day, some of you may have caught my 'i think i've been paid too much' post!
Well I called the bank and they confirmed my payment was right!!! My £3100 turned into £7200!!!! I am over the moon
Turns out they only sent me the paperwork for loan 1 - loan 2 paperwork seems to have got lost in the mail.
They've put all the paperwork in the post for me again with a settlement letter
Brilliant, Congratulations!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Red_peppers wrote: »Thanks,
I think I will write a letter to them, Amersall showed me what to put earlier - though I can't find it now!
So I will send that and give them two weeks, although I won't be expecting a response from them. Then off on the long FOS road I will go.
I was wondering though the 'cash back' will become available next year sometime so do I claim that back or wait for the FOS decision which I assume will take a couple of years.
I am determined to get this money back and get the PPI interest removed from the loan.:T
Fingers crossed everyone
Hiya
So you've a letter sorted out now for a reconsideration on this then?:D
Good one and sorry I was not here earlier to help, but sure the one amersall helped with will be a great help, good luck x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
