PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hello there and welcome.;)
In regards of the figures, I'm sure someone will be along soon.
If the account is still active you can request for a copy of the loan agreement from Lloyds TSB.
Just write a simple letter, enclose £1 cheque or postal order and request they send you a copy of the loan agreement by 12 days.
Remember to enclose the loan account number.
The agreement should show all details of the loan and if any ppi.
Hope this helps and as soon as you know please ask for help if required on the reclaiming.
However, you could call into the local branch who will check these details for you, or email the customer services below, but you will have to give them the bank account details in order for them to check this out for you.

That's great. Thanks for responding. I think I'll do both. The loan is still active. Another 40 odd months (if I could get the payments down that would also be ace).0 -
Dizzywithmoney wrote: »Hi - yes I am sure they will be. I dont really know what was on ours cos to be honest we did it through a claims company well before I found this site. I was on leave from work (it was the first week in March) and I was sorting through all the junk mail in my handbag (!!) and was also sick of them ringing me all the time so I just filled the form in and sent it off. I didnt know the account numbers or anything or anything about this site - I was very green and wouldnt even had known how to find out the account numbers back in the day!!! I obviously know a lot better now. Luckily the claims company had an offer on and we are paying them a lot less than some are charging, they were quite on the ball to be honest too at the beginning. This is how we come to have been able to claim it back before that dead line date that Barclay's set, etc.
Anyway enough about my claim and I hope everything goes ok with yours and Red Pepper's. Keep us informed.
Thank you for that I will keep you posted, I hope your money is soon in your bank account it would be a different story if Firstplus wanted money from you. All the best

Hi Guys and Gals!
I wasn't sure if I'd stand a chance of reclaiming PPI on my loan account but it's thanks to this forum I decided to give it a go.
I'd been very silly in my younger years and wound up with maxed out credit cards everywhere, so when I approached the bank for help, they offered me a loan to consolidate everything but only quoted the loan repayments with PPI. When I asked how much I would pay without it, as I didn't want to take it out, they said they would only consider the application if I took out the PPI.
I submitted my complaint based on this fact on 18th May and I was prepared to sit it out for 16 weeks, frustrating as it was. Then on 22nd August, two repayments were made against my loan account that I knew nothing about. On phoning Natwest loans team, they told me it was because my PPI had been cancelled and these were refunds against it but they couldn't tell me why it had been cancelled. After I explained that I had a complaint outstanding regarding my PPI they advised me to phone the PPI Concerns team who took half an hour to answer the phone and then told me that my complaint had not even been looked at yet... helpful as ever!:rotfl:I had read on the back of the initial acknowledgement of my complaint that in the event of my complaint being upheld, my PPI would be cancelled... but I didn't want to count my chickens just yet.
Then last Thursday, I'd had a rotten day at work and was feeling so downhearted about everything. 16 weeks from posting the claim to Natwest was nearly up and I thought I'd might as well give them another ring, although I fully expected tem to stall for another few weeks. This time the call went straight through and a young man told me it was good news because a decision had been reached on my complaint the day before and I would received a letter in the post shortly. He wouldn't discuss it any further until I had received my letter.More waiting, great! Must... not... count... chickens... yet!!
And finally, the letter arrived in the posted yesterday... UPHELD!! :j:j:jNot only have they upheld my complaint but they have also applied it to a previous loan and so my total payout is £11,840!!!
I cannot begin to explain what this means to me - I will be debt free finally!:D:D
Please give yourselves a big pat on the back - without you guys and the help you have posted, I would never have put in my complaint.
Just have to sit it out until the £££'s arrive now... :rotfl::T Natwest Loan PPI Claim Upheld Sep 11 £11,840 - Paid 25/11/11 :T0 -

Fabulous result BarmyBird :beer::beer::beer::D
And that's with you knowing you had PPI, most of us didn't. I suppose it was due to them forcing you to have PPI.
WELL DONE :TSuccesses
Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid
MBNA £3,600 Paid0 -
Hiya
With mine, all I can recall is after we received the uphold letters, the acceptances were in there, and we had to write the details of our bank as well.
When they received these back, it was approx 21 days afterwards they refunded into our bank.
Good luck
Cheers Di. Much appreciated!
The details of the account that the refund is being sent to were printed within my letter and there was no need to write back and confirm anything unless I had a dispute in regards to the figures or the details were wrong.
21 days passed on Friday, so hopefully my account balance will look somewhat healthier by the end of this coming week. Otherwise I will start chasing them. I will keep you all updated!2018 wins: Hong Kong holiday0 -

Your welcome
It seems a little different to how they do it now then, going by yours and others posts, maybe its a quicker way for them because of the backlogs perhaps.
Hopefully your money will be with you in your bank tomorrow, fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Just opened some unopened post from last week - HSBC have upheld our complaint - 2 loans were affected, total - £4388.86 - most useful, as I was made jobless on ThursdayPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Hi there
And yes I have come across much success against these by reading many posts on here.
Have you started a reclaim?
/QUOTE]
Thanks Di - no I havent started yet. What I did do was that I stopped the PPI payment last week and then the next step was i was going to start the claim this week. I was shocked to receive a letter yesterday from Tesco stating " that in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy, you need to give us 30 days notice to terminate the policy. We have now received notic of your wish to terminate your policy and a final premium will be debited at the usual time from your card account " I couldnt believe it the b** nerve of it
When I read this letter I wondered if I would have any joy or just hassle trying to pursue them with a claim0 -

Hiya
Yes you can still make a reclaim.
So annoying isn't it on the cancellation terms, which are not always made clear in the beginning, plus you are entitled to cancel at anytime, however what many seem to do now is resolve the case first then it should be automatically cancelled afterwards, but either way it should not matter.
To make a reclaim, complete the reclaim questionnaire below, send, and keep a copy for yourself as well, they will let you know if they need more time than the usual 8 weeks, as the FSA have currently given the main of the banks/business extra time of 12 weeks to deal with the backlog.
Step 3 to the reclaim questionnaire.
