  • Hi,
I have an ongoing mortgage with Halifax since 2004,At the time of sale i was also sold Total Mortgage Protection. This was advised by the seller.I work for a local health trust and my wife works for the NHS so we get full pay for 6 months if we're off sick and we have a work pension.
Because of this i contacted Halifax in May saying that i believed the TMPP was missold.I used the form on Halifax website and explained that as our work gave us sick pay we had no need for the mortgage repayments benefit.
i got a letter from them last week saying they are refunding all premiums paid plus interest.I rang to clarify if this was from 2004 to the present day and was told that they had also looked into my previous mortgage and this was being refunded too.About £60 a month from May 2001 to present plus 8% interest.:j

My boyfriend got a letter a couple of weeks ago from santander regarding his old alliance and leicester loan.
He sent back the application form as he had been told he had to take out PPI as a condition of being accepted for the loan.
A week later he recieved a letter offering him a refund of just over 4k! they said it will be in his account within 14days :)
    £100 - £10,000
  • Hi Plumfin
Can you tell me if you had a policy for Goldfish or just the statement. I had a rejection letter last week but have since found a statement dated January 2004. I don't think I ever had a policy. I have phoned Barclaycard this morning to check they had received my letter and statement and they still say they need a policy number before they can do anything. I had my card since 1996 and paid ppi since that date.
  • Hi, newbe here..be patient with me...The first I knew of ppi was when a claims management company contacted me about my mortgage ppi that was added by a mortgage broker , who recently was found guilty of adding ppi without the customers knowledge. They were fined by fsa and went bankrupt. The cmc had all my details and were able to tell me all this so I agreed to let them persue the case for me. They also knew that I had a monument credit card and a citi card and I agreed to them persuing those as well. Well, the financial services compensation scheme upheld the complaint against the mortgage broker. The fscs only pay 90 percent of a claim and they awarded me £1888:p, but the cmc took 33% of this but still I am left with £1250 ish.Nothing from monument or citi yet but hoping......I then decided to phone lloyds tsb and complain about my previous loans and they are looking in to them..I then phoned mbna about past credit cards and they have already upheld my complaint on one, it took total of 6 weeks, AND I had absolutely no documents to back me up, I just used knowledge gained from mse so THANK YOU.(it sort of takes over your life doesnt it). I would advise anyone to have a go, you have nothing to lose but possibly lots to gain

    Hi
I am having the same problem with Barclaycard. They say they need a policy number - I've never had one either. So I photo copied a couple of statements showing PPI was paid. Still waiting for a response. So frustrating.

Why would they need a policy number? you have proof of ppi on a statement!!! think this is a delaying tactic, i would ring FOS and query this, this is getting beyond a joke with the tactics the banks are using to get out of paying redress.

I figured that it was just a delaying tactic, That's why I sent copies of statements, asked them to investigate further, And told them that I would be speaking with FOS if they failed to respond. Fingers crossed that this has the desired effect!

Hate to tell you but I sent them (B/card) copies of old statements all clearly showing PPI with my complaint at the beginning of June and I am still waiting, it seems they can't find me on their system.
VV frustrating would be putting it mildly!
